Whilst central park seems gone for now, it does seem like there is a distinct possibility of retaining a National League side running out of Iwade. Hopefully if the venture comes off it gets the support to make the club viable and potentially keep the door open to a central park return in the higher leagues in the future.

The ‘ masses ‘ won’t believe you as they know best. Very few outside the ‘inner circles’ of a speedway club have any understanding of the finances involved as many a post on here shows . Championship Riders on a £100 plus a point ? Vans , houses, bikes, mechanics, given free ? never mind flights paid for. Those clubs still getting involved in those things are the ones most often on the endangered list.

Both long associated with King's Lynn but who was the better rider? Terry achieved a high average for many seasons whereas Malcom was a bit up and down until his move to Poole in 1975. Strangely Terry only made one World Individual Final (however qualifying from the British Final was no mean feat during the seventies) whereas Malcom made three appearances. Terry won the one World Pairs and a couple of World Cups whereas Malcolm's record is exceptional on that front (three pairs and four team). Perhaps Terry was more team orientated and too laid back for the big occasion? Malcolm was more ruthless. Terry may well have achieved more on the international stage but his career spanned the period that English riders were making names for themselves having graduated from the old Division Two and perhaps he was pushed out of the limelight? I guess that it's fair to say that Malcolm was the better all round motorcyclist. As captains of their respective clubs (King's Lynn and Poole) team honours were a bit short on the ground. Terry led 'Stars' to a KO Cup and ILKO Cup triumph whereas Malcom as a 'Pirate' won nothing...his team successes were achieved early in his career when riding for West Ham.

Shane Parker, Travis McGowan and Jamie Smith…. Then more recently when Somerset signed Rory Schlein, was one of the reasons I stopped going. Edit - when we turned a championship winning side into a 2nd placed side on the verge of the start of the season when we signed Henning Loof as an injury replacement.

Can we not have a reduction for winning the league?

My thoughts entirely, seems very negative to believe a team with no riders signed yet, won't beat a team with no riders signed yet!

I responded to the post re Wolverhampton Lack of development which your knowledge of is poor . It's motorsport it is expensive. Unfortunately attendance is poor but at every track we attended last year all seemed as they were if not better than before COVID, some teams will always live beyond there means just like some people live in debt . Can't comment on the committee as it would be speculation, can't think I watched a rider this season who didn't see bothered.

Yes... its only glasgow who are allowed to bring in Aussies and kiwis on 2.00 averages so he will definitely be a 4.00er

I'd prefer to remember one of the fastest riders I've ever seen, and he's battles with Nicki Pedersen at Arlington are still some of the most amazing races I've seen there. Would hate to see him have another serious injury.

Thing is your lack of knowledge is shown here agreed there is no training school however Wolverhampton constantly run competitive second half's with all British lads riding and give track time at every meeting to the British 250 champion . Unfortunately lots of teams are made up of foreign riders due to the lack of British based riders currently at premier league standard .

Where the world has gone crazy is that, not only can we not laugh at each other - WE HAVE LOST THE ABILITY TO LAUGH AT OURSELVES! Part of being British is being able to take the piss out of each other - and ourselves.

I think its really only one Poster is has said he would not have Adam back, and he is entitled to his or her opinion. I think they will be disappointed as reading between the lines Adam wants to be back and the club want him back as well. And I would say that the vast majority of fans want him back at Sheffield.

Not sure what your expecting from the BSPL ? They have no money , no power except inside their own minority sport and haven’t shown a lot of interest in assisting other ‘defunct’ tracks , except Leicester when they were closing as there was a bit of self interest involved .We can hardly call any region a hot bed of speedway these days , maybe the north ? ( Belle Vue, Sheffield, Scunthorpe , Redcar, Newcastle, Berwick ).

To be honest, it pains me to say but I dont think the brummies will run in 2022, I just don't see 1000 people going, maybe for a couple of weeks it could happen but it will revert to below that over the season, unfortunately the stadium owners are in a business and they want to see profit, I do believe they barely break even for the greyhound racing, speedway is not a sport that really captures the imagination of the younger generation in the city of Birmingham, dare i say it but once the older fans start fading away they won't be replaced, it's a shame but unfortunately it's the way it is, I have said before and will say it again younger generation want stuff like T20 Cricket, Football, even Formula 1, Birmingham is going through a major redevelopment and once that is complete, there will be so much to do for the youngsters, I asked a few of the kids around here about speedway and they had not got a clue what I was on about, the 20 odd years without speedway in Brum destroyed a potential couple of generations getting into it, I hope I am wrong, but I do believe it's going to take a miracle to get Birmingham to the tapes for 2022

Quite surprised with the stick Ellis is getting to be honest, a great racer and usually in the thick of the points, has also stated he wants a return to Sheffield for 2022. I'd be very happy if he was back with us.
