Think positive people. There's only 8 home matches to watch this team instead of the 16 there was originally going to be.

Except Thomas Jorgensen has an average 2 points higher than what he is and what he’s worth… So really we’re 2 points under the limit, but with two 2 pointers at reserve and so no one to bail us out of meetings. In all my years of supporting Berwick Speedway, since the 90’s, this is probably top 3 worst teams I’ve seen.

May be you should read his very extensive interview. I'm by no stretch of the imagination a fan of his but it's a pretty detailed explanation on a number of topics and very interesting. He is lets not forget now a Director of BSPL. As are others at the top table. That's a far more responsible position than the old Management Committee and its now a Limited Company listed at Companies House. A lot who criticise him haven't the balls to take on the role nor the responsibility. He deserves resect for that, however much you may agree or disagree with his ability in doing the role.

Unfortunately you can only lead from the front if the followers want to follow and as is blatantly obvious they don't . Example let's do 2 home 2 away meetings to increase the fixtures to be more relevant majority agree so announcement is made 10 days later the followers don't want it so major u turn like is said individual businesses running there own way and the organisation can't sanction them as they need them . Season runs over because of a load of different circumstances yet it's the organisations leader who is vilified and not the individuals who run the clubs who choose not to run for weeks on end during the warmest summer for years again clubs will only do what suits them and not the sport

Whether he is or not, you dont see a queue of promoters fighting with each other to take over from him do you? A thankless task I would imagine... I remember reading Jon Cook's summary of his time on the MC in the Star and the amount of pressure he got put under when being asked (often at the last minute), to make a ruling on a guest replacement for example... Promoters threatening to not run meetings, close tracks down, if they didnt get the result they wanted... Unfortunately so much of the issue all goes back ultimately to having a "subjective rule book" rather than a "specific" one... Meaning interpretation is often allowed... With the ultimate in fudge and cop out being the "in Speedway's interest" catch all caveat.... So many issues... Yet. So many are self inflicted...

I cant get into the mind set of signing a team in full knowledge that you are making a team change or two just a few meetings into the season. Either the team is good enough or it isn't.

Very surprised at the negativity regarding the Team.(thought that was usually me).

For my money I'd rather not see Heeps return. He came in as a heat leader with potential to improve & finished up at reserve, I'm sorry but i've seen enough of Mr Heeps. Another from this line-up I would rather stayed away is Lee Complin, his gating is not good enough for a track that has such a short run to turn 1 & he over-rides when behind & on more than once cost his own team points after obstructing his team mate. I'd say the #7 would most likely be Henry Atkins. Well until he stamps his feet as he has done at Somerset & Plymouth when he gets replaced in a race. I believe he is a fair NDL rider but the Championship is to strong for him. The return of Jack Thomas to Cowley is a must he was the star of the side for me.

    Glasgow's no where near Coventry

I think the UK is considered as 1 of the 2 other leagues( so Premiership/Championship is counted as 1)a Polish league rider can sign for.

Considering the likes of Josh Bates and Max Clegg have been considered rising stars in the not so distant past I can’t see any problems with Hume being one now.

...should have given it to John Berry all those years ago!

If it's Connor Bailey I'm never coming on this forum ever again... The Glasgow and Poole fans will not stop talking about it for at least 3 months if that happens

Some of the points Berwick lose with Jorgensen will be off set slightly with a points gain when Knudson gets a true average. But I agree with you, this is a very poor side, the promotion should know Jorgensen`s average will drop that should mean you start off with a points scoring reserve to cover, as should've happened last season with Etheridge before injury then Knudson. Berwick`s reserves are woeful. It can only be hoped that Flint and Knudson come up trumps.

It’s far from a surprise when you look at the bigger picture, Berwick are an incredibly well run club and the Courtney’s and Gary Flint are highly respected operators. We don’t know Rory’s other plans but clearly a Saturday track is something that works for him. There is also a big youth system at Berwick and their training track at Duns, and Rory clearly has history working with the British youth system.

Can we have massive numbers on front and back, so we know who is riding as our P.A.system is so crap.

Pretty much nailed it. With clubs running in two divisions double home fixtures just simply is too many meetings (especially the successful teams) but it does leave the standalone sides a little exposed. Kent i believe have planning for two league fixtures a month and Mildenhall have to juggle other events at the Stadium so with an April start inc K.O cup all fixtures could and should easily be completed by the end of August ready for sensible play offs in September.

Wide yes, banked yes, though nowhere near as steep as the Shay. Gundersen certainly made good use of the full width in 85!
