You’ve gotta love Jason Doyle. British Speedway legend. Not many treat OUR league with respect like he does. He even turned up last night for a challenge at Poole where it didn’t matter a jot, and still rode his heart out to a full 15 point max. What a servant he’s been and we’ll all miss him when he’s gone. Can’t see others at the top table that does what he does here. We should all get behind him at the GP’s!10 points

Thats a fantastic effort to get that meeting on.9 points

What's really worrying is that if Kings Lynn and Peterborough merged, taking all the best riders with them, they'd still be crap!6 points

I thought Cook looked a tidy little rider and was on the pace and improved with each ride, he certainly tried harder then most of his team mates that's for sure6 points

It’s very nearly a whole year without a win. And it’s very possible the way things are going. I feared you wouldn’t finish the season and every week passing is not changing my thinking.5 points

Yeah and given the farce it became that was such a shocking decision4 points

Bit off topic but i hope you all turn out for Sundays' British Youth Championship fixture. Last year's event was poorly attended despite it being a very entertaining 25 heat meeting. I think last years price was £10 so it was well worth the entrance fee. And supporting the next generation of riders is no bad thing.4 points

I believe that this current team ranks as one of the worst in our illustrious history. Coupled with that, one of the worst promoters. What should be a final year of celebration and happy memories is quickly turning into a season which will leave a nasty taste in many supporters mouths. Promotion has let our club and supporters down big time and should be held responsible for the shambolic mess we find ourselves in now.4 points

Hats off to Bob Ellis - trackman at Foxhall Foxhall underwater at lunchtime and in full race order by start time Shows what can be done by a professional committed promotion with the right team and the right knowledge and skills4 points

Up until track grade that was a brilliant meeting. Bit of everything you want to see in a speedway meeting, well done Scunthorpe. Great win for the stripes, everyone contributing great to see. Marcin getting to grips with UK tracks too. Great nights entertainment3 points

Tbf my phone changes Mulford to Milford lol. It also changed Cook once to fool3 points

The fixture list at most tracks are a shambles no doubt it will have an effect on crowd levels.IMO. don’t think the heat six abandonment is a reason ?IMO.Poor weather forecasts put a lot of fans off these days.IMO.Riders attitudes have a bigger knock on effect,it does takes much to make them want to go home.Fans are wary these days.3 points

I’d like to see joe Thompson get team kevlars and bike covers and get the rest of the season regardless. he is a great trier and worth persevering with. 20 years ago we did the same with a young Danny king and have had 17 loyal seasons. I can see a lot of similarities3 points

Well we are missing the big elephant in the room here!..... ..... Cook is also a Poole rider and we know Gavan has issue with them! I bet he is secretly gutted that Cook got as many as 6!3 points
-
That's very harsh, he was their best rider given his lack of experience at Foxhall and first year in premiership. He was pressuring riders ahead, made a couple of good starts and passed as well. He was only passed by iversen in heat 9 because he was trying to overhaul Rew and made a mistake. Peterborough's weaknesses are elsewhere.3 points

Works well, I don't think so! Crowds are down because of the lack of regular fixtures. If meets are going to be cancelled in May when 3mm of rain are forecasts we'll be racing in poor weather in October again.3 points

So let’s see if I’m getting this it’s the same competition but with a totally different name and it’s not a jubilee year. Struggling with that. Glasgow felt at the time it was inappropriate to continue under the sad passing off our Queen and to celebrate it as a jubilee cup, under the circumstances I thought at the time and still do that it was the correct thing to do.2 points
-
Pity they didn't show the same enthusiasm for the Jubilee Trophy last year... Glasgow shouldn't even be in the competition this year!2 points

Everything about Ipswich is spot on these days. The image of the team Kevlars, bike covers all matching gives the whole thing a huge air of professionalism. The website & social media feeds are fantastic. A huge well done on how the club has developed under Louis junior. Would certainly give the polish lot a run for their money…..2 points

Lack of use and interest? Just the sort of thing AEPG need to bulldoze the speedway infrastructure and claim that there isn't the interest to save it or provide an alternative elsewhere: excellent negotiating policy and position!2 points

Your the idiot mate..just a keyboard warrior..you wouldn't say boo to a goose to in real life so do us all a favour and stay off the Panthers chat because you are boring the s*** out of everyone on here.2 points

He wanted other riders in the team and that was essentially black balled by good old buster, with that in mind he didn’t want too be team manager and as previously stated it was only the morning of P&P that he agreed too do it so rob Lyon in my opinion isn’t too blame for anything at all! Wouldn’t blame him if he walked away2 points

So Cook should do better from his 6 rides on first visit,,, so from that Hume must have been awful,, as he only got 4 from his 6 rides,,, and he has been there plenty of times2 points

It's the same competition, it just has a sponsor this year. How do you feel that you paid out to see your team qualify for a final and then they just pull out of it?1 point
-
It wasn't the mickey mouse cup that's between a Leicester select & a Poole select at some point this season. Merely went round to thank the Glasgow fans for their support away from home.1 point

Looks like Poole were on fire tonight rather than the track1 point

Always comes across as someone who the sport could use to shape its future... One of the few who seem to see what is needed to grow the sport... And that "same old, same old" simply wont wash any more..1 point

Both clubs stink of staleness, going through the motions, half hearted lack of interest from the owner and teams of riders most other clubs don't want.1 point
-
Yeah Ipswich are lucky to have him for all the work he and the other track staff put in, mind you it's also down to the promotion wanting to put a meeting on rather then just call it off at t drop of a hat without any effort going in to try and turn the track around.1 point
-
Yes, he just gave up rather than have any real issue.1 point

Good to see Rew have a great meeting - the rest pretty much as expected other than Basso - is he demoralised or something? Going backwards in the scoring. Expected a bit more from Hans although he had 2 Ret's it seems or was that just pulling up when in last?1 point
-
If it was his first ever visit then I'm not sure 'he should do better' really. Would you really expect him to beat any of Ippo's top four?1 point

Lyon is throwing the riders under the bus He needs to take ownership. Sack Lyon now.1 point

I would suggest that the sport is on a knife edge when it comes to costs.. Some riders will have to be paid, possibly airline and hotel costs, if they arrive.. And those Promoters who rent stadiums will have to pay up after a certain time.. Damned if they do, and damned if they dont... If it means less of a threat to their survival and growth them it has to have merit... Speedway fans are a pretty hardy bunch, they must be given the stuff they put up with, so, whilst some will be disappointed, most will attend the next time.. And those who plan to attend, booking hotels, or travelling from 100's of miles away, will, by now I am sure, have realised that such an undertaking is fraught with potential disappointment...1 point

Well a month sure is a long time in speedway - From our club statement a month ago: "we can only stress that the club needs you more than ever at this moment. We are not giving up, so please do not give up on us. As a management team, we feel it is best to be completely open and honest with everyone and explain the situation, however difficult things are, and we will continue to do this over the coming weeks. We remain committed to having the best season we can, and if it is to be our last season we want everyone to have fun, make memories and enjoy the racing at one of the best tracks and finest venues in the sport." Doesn't really agree with best efforts and keeping the supporters onboard? Given that we've already lost to Ippo at the EoES I'm not sure what killing the first leg due to lack of effort is going to help with the racing, fun and memories for semi-final 2?1 point

...oh the days of just handing over cash (although there are at least two cafe vendors on the sea front of Bridlington who only accept cash) Yes I guess it's something we now have to live with. When our local Arboretum only allowed visitors who had booked in advance to visit during one of the less serious "lockdowns" I was then to be charged 50p on top booking fee. I decided not to book in principle especially as one can not always rely upon the weather.1 point

It is all about VFM. People don't mind paying more (as long as finances allow) as long as they think they are getting their money's worth.1 point
