  1. The thing with passing is people do also sometimes have to accept that the quickest riders are also the better gaters

  4. Leon looked better tonight but still lacking speed his track craft more than anything got him through. Think we would have took 12 points before it started and some great racing again. Sets things up nicely for Wednesday. And take a bow Jack Smith absolutely superb.

  5. Unfortunately there is no normal life for Jason, he is a talent on two wheels, very funny and a likeable guy but the but goes a long way back. Jason was kept out of a secure place to stay because of his ability on a Speedway bike when Chris Morton and David Gordon agreed/were persuaded by the probation services to train him and give him an opportunity to change his life. Those commitments kept him out of custody but when it came to formally signing a contract other clubs stepped in so off he went and became effectively unsupervised. The rest is fairly well known the negative almost feral influences around him put him back to square one. Others from our sport were influenced by Jason and got into similar difficulties with the authorities, one I know is certainly not riding anymore. What you see is what you get with Jason it's the bags and baggage that will be the problem I'd put him in a team tomorrow but wouldn't allow his entourage anywhere near a Speedway track.

  6. Not making it up,you said you would have a massive party when Poole are gone. That sounds like you want us to close and will be very happy if we did.

  7. What caught my eye about Leon was that he wasn't very smooth. I sit at the 3rd bend and he seemed to be making a helluva lot of effort, whilst others, such as Jimmy P, appeared to be nice and smooth. Obviously I wasn't taping everyone and analysing them in detail, but it caught my eye. As the 3rd bend is my usual perch I must compliment the track staff on whatever they've done to the 3rd bend. The racing tonight was just fantastic. I didn't think Ashfield could get any better. Jeezo, that Ashton Boughen looks a prospect. He's a bit "watch him through yer fingers" but boy has the lad got some speed.

  8. The Mulford pass on Craig Cook was good and also Batch with Wright in 13 and 15, were great races. A shame that King and Tate picked up injuries. Hopefully they won't be out for too long.

  10. Wow 2 passes in a whole meeting, absolutely mind blowing speedway. Berwick tactics from Redcar tonight

  12. I understand the affect of water falling from the sky.... you possibly being an armchair supporter and not actually getting to foxhall last night to see the very wet track makes your comment not only rude and provocative but an even newer low for the forum. Having seen the track at 6.45 I still believe the decision could have been made at 6.15 which would have saved a lot of fan travelling money and time.

  17. That was a really bad decision, Cook was doing ok at the time, so put him in - more chance off the gate that Milik off 15m, or give Flint his 2nd ride? Stewart Dickson did the same at Glasgow, giving Schlein a 15m heat & not giving Hodder his 3rd ride instead. Very basic mistakes being made (though not as bad as Peter Schroeck)

  18. Some of the reactions on here are quite hysterical. A person committed a crime, was caught and served their time - happens all the time, get over it As for other speedway riders, we've had alleged and convicted corruption, multiple drug abusers, alcohol abusers, violent criminals, including murder and many of these are/were warmly thought of e.g. Lee, Morans, Ward. Very few have no victims, the drugs trade sees many deaths and abuses of people across the world. If he wants to ride speedway then I have no problem with that.

  19. That list is still huge and amounts to around £60,000, it stretched back to the 90s, some of the non payers are no longer with us, some have just retired and gone off into the sunset but some are still riding and have no intention of paying, said this before that if any rider has a debt to a speedway van sales at the end of the season then next year they shouldn’t be granted a license till it’s paid, I know a few years ago this was the case with Aussies but not sure if that still the case

  20. Steve Worral looking good out the gates tonight and also think he had more passes tonight than he did in 3 seasons at Wimborne road.

  21. I thought Berwick despite engine failures and falls leading to two rider withdrawals recovered valiantly. They all gave it everything. Never threw it in. Rory was fantastic in Heat 15 . How he squeezed Pickering and Sedgmen was breath taking.

  22. Reality bites, Workington can't afford just one of their 1-5 having an off day when they're carrying the reserves, need at least three race wins from them all every meeting to have a chance

  32. Cud be an interesting couple of meetings against scummy, as whoever wins on aggregate over 2 meetings will be in the semi final of the BSN cup, also probably a chance the losing team will also qualify as best 2nd place finisher

  45. I've been thinking of this for a while. which of those two tracks, both champions in the respective years, were the better. Firstly league results W.Ham in 1965 . Results M.34 W 23 D1 L 10. Halifax in 1966 M 36 W 27 D 0 L 9. Better record for Halifax Head to Head : 1965 Halifax 39-38 at Halifax. West Ham 45-33 at West Ham. 1966 Halifax beat West Ham both times by same score 41-37 each time . Better record for Halifax Riders CMA 1965 West Ham : McKinlay 10.72, Harrfeldt 10.36, Hunter 9.56, Simmons 6.16, Trott 4.6, Leonard 3.68, Ede 2.84 . These were the seven most frequent riders Total of CMA's 48.12 Riders CMA 1966 Halifax : Boocock 10.41, Boothroyd 9.35, Younghusband 9.02, Roper 7.42, Kingston 5.64, Jameson 5.27, Gavros 4.71. These were the seven most frequent riders. Total of CMA's 51.82 Clearly in 1965 the Hammers had the best Heat leaders by far, whereas in 1966 Halifax were by far the better balanced e.g in 66 Gavros' 4.71 lowest of the 7 would be ahead of the 3 lowest Hammers in 65 (Trott, Leonard, Ede) My conclusion, as a nerd , and who went to many meetings both years is that Halifax were more dominant in 66 , than West Ham were in 65, so I reckon that Halifax were a better team in the 66 BL than West Ham were in the 65 BL. Only reason I did all this was because West Ham ,justly , are often more praised for their championship winning season in 65, whereas Halifax's achievement doesn't seem to get the same recognition, which is a shame. Hope folks find this interesting- even the many hammers fans on the forum. Both tremendous teams though

  46. max James falls when Hagon fell off trying to avoid him. That’s a shocking decision by the ref what does he want him to do run him over. Standard of refereeing this year has been nothing short of a disgrace.

  48. Jack Smith has actually been nominated for this event by Slovenia! The place is allocated to AMZS so if they nominated him it means he will use an AMZS FIME licence. Nationality does not matter in individual meetings.

  49. If a league match, for example, is abandoned without the result being declared: - no team points are awarded regarding the league table - no rides and points count in the riders' averages - the fixture does not count in official 'records of achievement', so effectively the races completed become unofficial - if a rider sets a new best time in an unofficial 'race', such as in a practice it does not count as an official record ..... so why would a track record time set in an abandoned meeting stand? On the other hand: - the riders will have been paid for the races they competed in - at the time the races took place they were 'official' until subsequently deemed otherwise - if a team drops out of the league the results are expunged from the records - if a team drops out of the league the riders' scores no longer count in their averages - expunged results are no longer official, although they were at the time they were achieved - a track record set during a meeting subsequently removed from the official records still stands ...... so why wouldn't a track record time set in an abandoned meeting still stand. In my opinion the record should stand even if the meeting is abandoned. It was an official race when it took place. Ivor Brown held the track record at Cradley Heath for nearly 6 years with a time of 68.4 seconds set against New Cross on 20th July 1963. Eric Boocock eventually set a new record of 67.0 seconds on 12th May 1969. In 1963 New Cross dropped out of the Provincial League in August and the results were expunged from the official records. The meeting at Cradley Heath was 'official' at the time it took place. Subsequently, Cradley Heath had the league points from the meeting taken away, Ivor Brown had the points scored taken away but he kept the track record.
