  1. Wouldn't be speedway if no one found something to moan about . I like beer , gaps in proceedings allows me to get some , thanks Mr tractor driver

  2. Does no one talk to their friends or people standing next to them anymore. OK if it's raining I can understand why people want a quick meeting. But yesterday the weather was fine and there was plenty to talk about. Fans ask for more dirt and don't want dust but then don't want delays when it needs graded or watered.

  3. There was definitely one dodgy call for me, possibly two. The possible one, was the call back when Lynn were on a clear 1-5. I had a seat in the stand so if I’d have stayed there would have had a better idea, but I needed a Jimmy Riddle and walked across to the gents and watched the race from a head on view from the tapes. Did Klindt jump? Difficult to tell from where I was but looked like an even split and if he did jump, the red flags came out very late!! Boos from the Lynn fans and I don’t blame them. Second one was Brennan. Saw that one close up and he definitely spun and went down on his own and should have been excluded. No way was that an all four back.

  4. It was £27 to sit (£25 to stand) at Belle Vue earlier today so tonight is £3 or £5 more to watch 15 more heats if both Sheffield and Belle Vue junior teams, don’t see why Belle Vue fans should be whinging about that
    4 points
  5. Why? In reality he only needs to get 3-4 points a meeting imo.

  6. Good for you, but that’s just you isn’t it and not everyone thinks the same way obviously. I’m not interested in watching the junior racing either, not in the slightest. No need to get all upperty and look down your nose at those that aren’t interested in it. Judging by the non existent crowds at NDL level I’d say you’re in a tiny minority. saying “do you really follow speedway at all or are even interested in it” just because you’re not interested in watching the junior races is bloody daft.

  7. The meeting ran fine, the delay was due to Dayle Wood needing the paramedics in the pits after his crash

  8. I said on another thread the other day that the daytime meetings often lead to slick tracks and a lack of home advantage at Foxhall and many other teams fans scoffed at the idea kings Lynn would be our closest challenger at home so far this season, took a while but the boys got themselves in front for a comfy win in the end. be interested to know how much extra revenue a bank holiday meeting brings on the gate and whether it’s still of value to run them as we get decent crowds on Thursday nights and the daytime meetings the track is always tough to keep the moisture in the material to provide grip and a dirt line

  9. Daytime meetings in the UK are a waste of space. Never ever remember a good one in a lot of years watching speedway. &nbsp The track “material “ just doesn’t hold the moisture. It’s either a dust bowl or verging on waterlogged ( like Landshut SGP)

  10. I can't believe our luck for the comets to get vinnie.hes gonna be outstanding around northside arena and defo a home fans favourite.just wish the so called experts on here would stop jumping on every racing incident he's involved in and making it out worse than it really is.

  11. Which is fine if you want to watch it, if not you’re getting £30 for one meeting which is absolutely awful value. Especially for those Belle Vue fans who are potentially wanting to get home.

  12. I think Joe or Nathan Ablitt are the best options available but have a feeling that Bomber will convince Kings Lynn to give Ashton more time . i think probably would do Ashton good to ride NDL instead of Premiership to get some confidence back

  13. That sounds worrying. What tone did he make the statement in?

  14. Jesus H any chance of discussing the actual meeting! - Aces clearly need to improve they just squeezed past the Tigers and they looked poor away tonight at Owlerton

  15. No he is a gating tart apart from his home track

  18. Quite devastating I know...... The Aces will bring their legend Robert Lambert back to replace Mulford come August... (If Sheffield don't nab him first)...

  19. I've heard it said that a daytime summer meeting, needs water the day before, and starting again at around 4am as needed on race day to keep the moisture in the track. Not an easy task to get in right i'd imagine.

  20. Oxford should have won the first match by more (Cook only given 4 rides) so if they don't get the bonus point TM to blame. I think they should be able to win the second leg too, but that may depend on Schroeck as much as the riders.

  21. No they wont, he only has to be better than Marson which should be easily achievable.

  22. No tac subs allowed in heat 8. It seems Musielak keeps getting used for tac subs even when he's not the best rider in the match.

  24. I must say, first time I’ve logged into BV TV as a witches fan, this is a highly impressive set with even the laps and time intervals. This is the best I’ve come across and even better than BSN. Kudos to the BV team who set this up!

  25. There will be an awful lot who’ll leave straight after the meeting, despite having “paid” to watch the junior racing. Still think/hope enough stay behind for the youngsters sake though so they get to race in front of a larger crowd than they are used to. Can’t blame anyone for leaving after the main meeting though. Couple of hours is more than enough for most.

  26. yes it’s very good quality, they have a studio with presenter, 2 people on commentary 4 cameras on the track and 3 cameras in pits

  27. In theory Hagon should be far too strong for the NL/NT. He had a 10+ NL average last year & the league has weakened considerably. With a 4+ Champ average, I commend him for leaving the development leagues behind. His slow start to the season would not normally be a massive concern while he was at reserve, it would be fair to believe he'll come good, but riding at number 3 is a big ask.

  28. There is also the point that people are being forced to pay £30 even if they want to leave after heat 15 of the main meeting.

  29. Dayles medical attention was largely covered by taking the interval much earlier so it was only a minor contributor to the longer time taken to run the meeting. It probably didn't seem so long for you as you had so many cakes etc to eat!

  30. It reminds of what Dimitri Berge was like when he came back from the injury he suffered (can't remember what it was) when he was with us. So maybe......it could be coached out of him, but from what i've seen so far, and also going back to watch him riding for Oxford on YT everything everyone is saying is on the mark, gates and flies off into the distance, or misses it and then just can't/won't/or unable to mix it when the chance arises

  31. The Tigers have won three from three away from home so far this season.

  32. I can see boughen quitting speedway for a while,he needs time out and a reboot imo.

  33. That is a total insult. A lot of the riders, learn the Plymouth track. It's a technical track,it's a track of skill !! Most tracks these days are gate, open up and go. That's not racing. Plymouth is an old fashioned style riders track. If a lot of riders can't learn the art of proper speedway riding,we'll,that's their problem not Plymouths !!

  36. 2 points needed and expected today for our play off push. Financially, effectively done.

  37. Absolutely. If riders aren't skillful enough nowadays to ride a technical tracks then it's a sad state for the sport to be in.

  38. I bet most teams would love to add an average rider like that to their team...😃 5. Michael Jepsen Jensen - 2, 3, 3, 2, 3 = 13

  43. Think it was a few meetings before that when Ace took him out and he wasn't particularly pleased. Think this downturn in form though came after his crash in the CLRC at Redcar last year, hasn't been the same since.

  44. There have always been riders that were infuriatingly inconsistent. They though tended to be "gate and go" types who could not pass, some to do with their home tracks., others because it wasn't in their DNA I'm thinking of examples like Nicky Allott / Rene Ass / Alan Molyneux from the past, no doubt others will have other examples. I can't recall though any of them being so blatantly reluctant to avoid contact. I do suspect it may be linked to his MX background, where he would sometimes make a start and just ride away from 20-30 others but if he missed th start would literally have to option to shut off, tactically avoid the melee and then pick off riders over 10-15 laps. Speedway of course is very different, it's instant and no room for giving an inch. He's clearly an outstanding motor cyclist and has blinding speed . May be there is someone in the Team GB set up who place a great emphasis on the mental side who can work with him and alieviate the problem before it's too late. I wish the lad well.

  45. This will be 2 comfortable home wins but Sheffield might edge the bonus with a bigger home win.

  46. Have to agree with you. Berwick with 3 ex Tigers in their team gave it everything. Cookie showed some speed and will surely get back to his best with more laps under his belt. Jack Smith showed he can still score useful points at Ashfield. For the Tigers, Dan Thompson was pure class and he and Leon looked a lot more comfortable riding together. Bomber was bomber and I hope fans don't start taking him for granted - what a rider! Special mention for the efforts of the 2 reserves with Freddy's defeat of Danyon proving crucial. Best of all we have qualified for the BSN semi final and we still haven't all clicked.

  47. Ive watched him a lot and have taken note because he is very talented and very fast. It was at Glasgow a few years ago, can't remember but maybe an U21 final when he was in the mix first corner and got hit from behind that put him on the track beyond the air fence, he was interviewed by the BSN after and swore in the interview about the incident. Since then and I could be wrong, but he does not mix and will back off in any situation if he doesn't have clear air in front of him. I really hope that Im wrong but can't see a future in the sport with him..

  48. I agree with it, I'm pretty sure they asset system would never hold up in court if it was challenged. But feel there should be some reward for NL/NT teams who bring on riders, who then go elsewhere.
