  1. Doesn't matter who wins Redcar, Glasgow or Re-run the whole thing. The most important thing is those who have that been injured are ok and make a full recovery

  2. Wow you do talk crap Go and look at the 4 fixtures between the 2 sides Your reserves 45 points and Glasgow’s 14 Yoir reserves are miles better than Glasgow …. You really do spout absolute tripe

  3. The notion Ipswich aren’t a family club is just flagrant trolling - fwiw belle vue are a similarly run club imo showing loyalty over countless years. Really can’t understand your constant derisive rhetoric towards the witches. Now being run by a second generation of the Louis family, both of whom were succesful riders and promoters over many decades. Captained by a rider who first rode for us as a 16 year old 21 years ago. Managed by a former captain of many years. Led from the front by world class riders in Emil and Doyle - Doyley being quoted as saying he’d happily see out his British career at the club. Ellis a returning rider who first rode at reserve as a teenager, Dan Thompson career revived when at a crossroads being dumped by Leicester, rew returning to help us win the trophy with Hawkins describing him in the meeting preview as “his first choice as soon as Adam was out, he’s our rider” Ipswich our as much a family as any club Now more than ever the speedway community needs to pull together and cohesively push towards a sustainable future for British speedway where we’re retaining clubs and even hopefully seeing past clubs re open or even new ventures come to fruition like Workington have in the last couple of years. I took my aged 9 t shirt with me Thursday as a good luck charm, signed by all 6 riders of the 98 team of 27 years ago on the track in the wild celebrations that night we won it all, it was a great talking piece with other fans around me reminiscing of that night sharing stories and remembering dad having to hoist me up over the fence so Tony rickardsson could reach to sign it for me! It’s certainly felt like a family club to me over the 36 years I’ve been going and others far longer, I’m a third generation fan with my grandfather even helping dig it out when it was originally built.

  5. Speedways in 90% of cases (tracks) is loss making but the same can be said for all football clubs in the UK. I think a report the other year stated that the average losses for Championship (2nd Division) football clubs was a 6 figure fee a WEEK! Norwich City who average 26,000 crowds lost £25M last season while Ipswich Town who average just under 30,000 crowds lost £38M! Rebuilding Coventry speedway stadium will happen if the owners sell up or decide to lease it out. Investors are in place but I suspect it will take a compulsory purchase order from authorities to make this happen. The plans for a new Wimbledon speedway track are I believe on an existing motorsports facility and persons with the available finances are involved. Can it happen? - Long shot but got a chance for sure with the before mentioned necessary finances and the aim to build it bit by bit starting at grassroots level which I believe is the best way for new tracks to reopen. Buxton speedway site still exists in situ, is only grass roots so doesn't need the usual huge cash influx to reopen and anyhow persons with finance are behind Laurence Rogers reopening plans. - Decent chance of coming back although I'd prefer they are called their traditional Hitmen nickname! Northampton has interested parties I believe and this is going to be a hard sell I suspect at a venue that hasn't ever staged senior level speedway, last had junior League/ training level speedway in the late 60's and is a few miles out of Northampton. - Maybe would be better suited to 3rd Division, training track level? As for Swindon speedways future, I'm sceptical given Clark Osbornes history and get the impression the new track plans are just a staged farce to ensure the old Blunsdon stadium which currently has protection gets demolished for housing. I assume the local Council are aware of all this and won't allow Blunsdon to be demolished until the proposed new site has been running League speedway for at least a season. - While Blunsdons car park has been built on and houses surround it, alternative parking for fans if it reopened is available at Businesses nearby so I still feel that this venue is the best place to reopen Swindon speedway AND greyhounds which both have been well supported in the Town. - I get the impression negative poster R87 knows more about Clark Osbourne that most I suspect?! I agree that speedway in the UK is on the wane and has been since the mid 70's but it is certainly not down and out. The sport like the allegedly mass money making football has always required rich enthusiasts/ investors to prop it up and will do so for as long as it continues.

  11. Hoping we can retain the top stars and the fabulous entertainment they bring. Who can topple Sheffield off the top spot they have made their own with three tops in four seasons. Incredible to think the only time they didn’t top the table, they were worthy winners of the play off cup. The battle continues between the tigers and The Aces for team of the decade.

  12. "In no particular order" should be understood to mean any heat advantage, no matter the value. That's 8-7 in favour of Redcar.

  14. You clearly are a guy with serious issues regarding Ipswich and ‘poaching riders’ let me put your hat on straight buddy Doyle… signed after Swindon closed .. you could have signed him Ellis… signed after Sheffield SACKED him … not poached … SACKED King.. Mr Ipswich Emil…. wasn’t signed from a British club … again Belie Vue could have got him Brennan… ah yes let go by erm Belle Vue who didn’t want to keep a promising young Brit and thought Blodorn would be a better option lol… had Isaias Birmingham Dan Thompson… was SACKED by Leicester… not poached..Sacked Your vendetta against who Ipswich have signed is borderline pathetic and wrong in every sense .. we have built this team and not poached anyone Any club could have signed Ellis or Thompson but didn’t and the stupidity of letting Brennan go when he was at Belle Vue was shown up massively this season when Belle Vue have riders like Blodorn and Cook who look like amateurs away from the NSS I don’t expect Bewley to leave but maybe just maybe he wants a challenge … wants to ride on a more challenging track that can help him develop more … he has big fast tracks in Poland and Ipswich can help him learn a tougher track If Bewley ever did move to Ipswich he knows how well the club is run and supported… arguably the best run and most supported club in the UK He always says how much he loves riding Ipswich ….. Ipswich don’t need to poach riders …. Riders want to come to us because of how the club is run Now run along and see if your club decide to sign riders who can ride away from home …. Maybe someone like a Tom Brennan??

  16. It's interesting that those who run Speedway as a "stand alone" business seem to do quite well each season... Generally much better than those who run it as an expensive hobby, or get it subsidised by stock cars... Maybe when it is your day to day income stream it focuses the mind more? A few more like Chris Louis and the sport would be in much better shape...

  21. Like you say the result is irrelevant ,more important is the injuries to people who were involved.

  22. It has to be a replay. There’s nothing else for it. It’s the only plausible decision. We finished ahead of Redcar in the league, won at Ashfield and won at Redcar, but it still wouldn’t be fair to award it. I appreciate it’s not league competition, but it’s the only comparison available. Above all else, best wishes and regards to the supporter. Horrible to imagine going out for a great night of speedway and something so serious happening.

  29. As it hasnt been run since Covid I doubt it very much. The current promotion don't seem to want to gamble on a probable loss making individual meeting.

  30. There’s talk of another Uk venue holding a GP other than Manchester. Ipswich has been mentioned. There’s the infrastructure which they don’t have . Not the easiest of places to get to. Then the all important track that has to produce exciting racing. Which again, they don’t have. Granted the odd exciting race but doesn’t everywhere else. Odsal , Bradford would have both those things. And is tried and tested too. If we’re looking at regular racetracks then I’d look at Glasgow.

  31. Doyle said at the beginning of the season that he had agreed with Louis to hold it next year. He wanted to focus on the GPs I believe the question was asked by a supporter at the media day in Oxford.

  33. Very on the nose re the witches team building ethic. I particularly like the goodbye to “Mr Ipswich”. Don’t let the door hit your ass on the way out! Belle Vue are more a family and that is why most of the team have only ever ridden for Belle Vue with some for many years. Three finals and two wins in five seasons is proof it works for us but I get others attraction to a team basically generated by AI, however disconnected any success feels to fans. The only downside for us is we need to lose riders year on year and haven’t had the luxury to strengthen up as the weaker teams from last season could. It’s a method of distributing the trophies among other teams which is a fine idea but difficult to watch when riders you’ve massively helped along are aiding your downfall. The perennial race to the bottom our sport so admirers. In the UK Dan rides around 50% of his meetings on gate’n’go tracks and the only thing he’d learn elsewhere is how to gate consistently. I’m more than happy with the exciting Dan we have now, a rider that all but two (one of which is another Belle Vue rider) of the riders in the world would want to emulate. To suggest the NSS is holding back a riders development is bizarre, even for BSF given the amount of FIM medals amassed recently.

  35. Big mistake if there are and even more so if it’s two over the same weekend which is just not required. If there is to be 2 UK GPs they could do a lot worse, all things considered than giving Ipswich a go which would attract a larger attendance than Manchester at a significant lower cost and thereby to provide reasonable admission prices & a good profit for the promotion.

  36. think he blew an engine Neila. I was absolutely gutted for him. After working his way through from 4th to 1st he was cruelly denied the championship with a mechanical issue.

  37. A brilliant meeting and some good hard racing, Vinnie was hard done by to loose a chain while leading the last heat, could have won outright, will cairns missed the gate so did not get into the run off. While the run off itself was hard fought, well done all riders you were a credit to the sport. Cooper Rushden looks a fantastic prospect at 15 years old

  38. Poole fans talk absolute tripe It’s not about who finished where in the league it’s how teams get on against each other Ipswich struggle against Kings Lynn at Foxhall because their riders go well there and in comparison Belle Vue who are a better side than Lynn according to league position can’t ride Foxhall for toffee and get thumped there Poole have won at Glasgow and only lost by 8 as well this season At Poole , Glasgow have lost by 14 and 24 Poole should win comfortably over 2 legs final league position has nothing to do with it , its about how certain teams go at certain tracks

  47. Maybe British speedway can exist without these riders and focus on the ones that want to race in Britain as a priority? This opens up opportunities for young riders to establish themselves and clubs become more stable as they don't live beyond their means by paying riders who don't see Britain as a priority.

  48. The amount of rubbish I read on these forums about birmingham speedway is terrible. Then when a positive comes, no other club backs them. I'm sure there will be moaners saying only 3 teams, all at birmingham, not worth bothering with. At least they are trying to do something for the future.
