Trouble is people get out of the habit of going each week its regular fixtures whats needed8 points

If we pay our money at the turnstiles we are entitled to our opinion whether you or the promoters like it or not7 points

I really hope that the majority of posters on here do not represent the general speedway supporter! There is so much negativity that, if I were a potential Premier promoter, I would say "I don't think I'll bother". Whatever you think of those who run speedway, they are doing much, much, more than sitting in front of a keyboard, sniping at those who do get off their ar*e and they risk their own money!7 points

Then make a short statement saying they will be making a full statement on wed/thur and not just leave us plebs hanging6 points

WTF! just merely responded to someone who said Supermarket's won't touch ex-cons by pointing out that Timpson's business model is to do so and he's one of the UK's wealthiest men! Personally, I don't give a flying f'k if Garrity is back in speedway or not, if someone chooses to give him a chance good luck to them, there are plenty of wrong un's involved in the sport on and off the track already!5 points

Some would say you have managed to emigrate without even moving....4 points

The promoters have the sport they want. . Some do it to bring in income to pay their way in life.. Most do it as an affordable hobby, and maybe a bit of an ego trip... Therefore. Any comments on here, or on the various social media pages, will make not one jot of a difference as to how they decide to run the sport... Sadly, we are where we are, simply due to that fact... If they could run the sport "properly" then they would have done so many moons ago, hence the "same old/same old" has been the only plan for a long, long time,, (as it is the best they can deliver), even though it clearly isn't fit for purpose, as the current issues it has led to obviously demonstrate... Their money, therefore, their way, and that is fair.. However, the sport will never grow unless they radically change their operating model, which is simply regressing the sport, almost year after year..4 points

I agree in many ways but as ever context is key on everything! Anyway we are going round the houses here so probably just have to disagree. Lets hope if he does get a chance to ride somewhere he embraces it and makes something of it.4 points

Yeah, give me the PL featuring no show Ben Cook at No1 (or Jack Holder or Brady Kurtz... or insert the name of your favourite No1) backed up by Joe Thompson and Sam Hagon at reserve 😁4 points

Did the AGM take place? Nothing as a prelude on their own website... You would think something so fundamentally important in actually delivering the sport each season would have been given some media focus wouldn't you?3 points

Getting rid of the 'Pay Offs' would assist in this. What the hell do you want 'Play Offs' for when there are only five Teams in the League? It makes the Sport look more 'Mickey Mouse' than it is at the moment. I love Speedway, but I am finding it hard at the moment. I am looking for a future, but sadly, there is not much encouragement down the line. I don't really know how it got this bad.3 points

Not allowed to do so.... I took on many "criminals" for my supermarkets all around the country... As long as they informed me about their past history then they fulfilled the criteria for a job... If they didn't let me know, and I found out later, then, legally, I could dismiss them for failing to declare such information... When you have served your time then you are as equal as everyone else...3 points

Last 3 be announced soon I believe they are nearly in place looking like. Craig Cook Daynon Hume Max Perry3 points

You do realise you can think that the sport is in trouble, needs new direction but can also be positive about it at the same time, rather than continually talking it down?!!3 points

I used to remember when every week speedway was on and if not people used to find other things to do with there cash. Yes I get it costs money to put meetings on but people get out of the habit of attending otherwise. Some teams did not have fixtures for over a month last season.3 points

I know what you’re saying and you make a very valid and fair point. I’m pleased to say that I have since moved away from said overly cosmopolitan area2 points

Gary clegg come on down you have won bullies star prize of a speedboat 😁 thanks to Google2 points

Streaming is becoming the new doubling up rule. If you love the sport follow your side home and away and spend money that way.2 points

I would think a brief statement of the main 'bullet points' will be issued to Speedway Star to meet their Tuesday evening deadlines, with a longer statement made available this week, As it is certain there will be 2 senior leagues, I would hope that a statement for 2026 provides a 'temporary' format solution (as its relatively short-notice) with plans agreed for significant changes in 2027.2 points

It’s incredible how badly BSPL treat their customers. Absolutely no information whatsoever or a timeline for an announcement.2 points

Pretty clear to be honest how It got this bad... Year on year, keeping using an unfit for purpose, failing operational and business model was a key fundamental... As was not listening to thousands of disenfranchised customers, over the past two decades in particular, who refused to keep paying for what they were being served up..1 point

No it isn't and I'm sure this is a factor. With one league there would be enough fixtures to keep fans happy as well as riders who do not regularly have a Premiership/Championship club. It will also be a lower financial burden for promoters than 2H2A.1 point

What is disposable income though sounds like putting money down the drain , I see many doing just that though , expensive mobile contracts, Netflix accounts , sky contracts and the dreaded Mac Donald’s Kentucky fried chicken and pizza hut….don’t get me started on red bull and monster 😕 All a lifestyle choice ….where do we go from here Now back to Speedway will it be Four teams (not really viable ) or five teams which hopefully be the case till we can limp into 2027 when who knows what will happen, probably one League anyway ?1 point

Not sure there is transparency in most sports, it is all about covering their backs and treating us all like mushrooms.1 point

As many of us are, although doubtful we will have any official announcements today (Tuesday) with Wednesday or Thursday being more likely.1 point

Part of me gets this, but as you know most promotions are only breaking even at the very best, look at Plymouth the boss has stated he has lost 350k over 7 years !!! So if 2H 2A that's potentially more money for the clubs to lose, but if it stays 1H 1A more clubs may stand s chance of breaking even via help from sponsorship1 point

It’s all over the news tonight……they are there discussing what biscuits are coming into Barnsley over night & if there will be enough tea & coffee. The local residents that were interviewed couldn’t believe that Barnsley had been chosen to stage such a huge high profile conference. Tomorrow is such a big day!1 point

Some of the comments on this topic aged well (@mikebv 😉😂) I ran a poll on TwitterX the last time his position seemed untenable and the consensus then was he should be gone... yet here we are 3 years later. He's so far out of his depth it's embarrassing, he may be okay running sleepy Scunny but as a leader he's been about as effective as Liz Truss!1 point
