One of Cooper's favourite tracks, finished 3rd in the U19 final beating a certain Mr cairns in the process, also done many more laps in the British youth championships. Something Poole fans know nothing about, as they don't put on youth meetings, just splash the cash to get the young ones to sign up š²5 points

Donāt worry theyāll be saying it again after weāve been battered at Belle Vue next Monday š5 points

The trouble with you doing this (and weāre all guilty of it at times) is youāre looking at it through your Lynn spectacles. Youāve looked down the scorecard and picked out one score from a rider that you think should have improved on his tally, and yet ignored that Ben Cook scored paid 15. Yes, itās a poor performance this time around from Kvech who is usually better than that, but you wonāt get paid 15 from Cook every week either so if you took four points off him and added it to Kvechās score then nobody would bat an eyelid and itād look about right. With my Ipswich spectacles on, I look at a combined 11 from Lawson and Musielak and Iām disappointed with that and would hope that would be improved upon next time, and the same for a 3 point return from Bangs. Iād expect improvement there also next time around. What ifs is an impossible game to play and we can only deal with what IS. As has been said before, you could ride 10 meetings on the same track with exactly the same riders and not get the same scoreline twice.4 points

King's Lynn were doing so well... and then the season started š4 points

Gavan doing Gavan things, comes running to the Poole thread as soon as he thinks there is a dig to be had.3 points

If my Aunt had a pair of b0llocks and all that. IF Musielak repeated his 17 pointer haul on one of his visits last year (capable) Lynn would have been obliterated. IF Bangs had more time to settle in to racing in this Country it wouldnāt have even gone to the last heat etc etc. The fact is Lynn never looked like winning either meeting and had to use a tactical on their own track against a team many has tipped for the Wooden Spoon! Theyāll improve and get better results as the season goes on sure, but theyāre not even close to competing for that elusive title youāve never won.3 points

Agree but the kids advisors or the kid him self could have said no, the same as agreeing to ride in Poland and I think one of the Scandinavian countries, imo he is doing to much too soon, and the same with cairns3 points

I hope Ukraine gets knocked out and this charity of having them in purely due to politics can stop. I donāt really care about the war when Iām watching speedway, Iād rather Russian be in it, whether that upsets people or not.2 points

Paco really should have beaten King in heat 8, he had the chance to block his outside run but was too polite and left plenty of room. I actually thought he rode pretty well after heat 1 and given a few meetings on a track he had seldom ridden he could be solid. Cooper isn't going to fail to beat an opponent very often IMO but we shall see. Pointing fingers at riders one home meeting in is a bit early IMO.2 points

What a sad state of affairs our sport is in when we are calling on our riders to make better starts to win meetings. Wouldnāt it be lovely if the promoters saw their riders struggle to pass and next time prepared a racetrack.2 points

Sorry Bagpuss but this post doesn't really make sense. Happy with the speed of the KL riders apart from Kvech whilst also saying that Ipswich were ordinary apart from 2. They were either fast enough to score points or they weren't. Needing a 5-1 from a tac sub at home to keep it close would suggest something very different to what you've posted. Granted I wasn't there watching so only a keyboard opinion from looking at the scoresheet.2 points

They must have been gutted when Ipswich got bought as they were eyeing fourth without them at that time... But then happy when Northampton got confirmed as they maybe now won't be bottom.... Must be a rollercoaster of emotions....2 points

You need to hope Cooper doesnāt have Ć lack of confidence from riding for Kings Lynn been absolutely thrown in at the deep end which is so wrong for a young kid2 points

Looks like Tom is starting to show his potential ,he was putting himself about in Poland at the week-end too.Hope he can stay injury free itās along season.2 points

Castagna getting 4 is not enough at home ⦠your number 2 should win heat 8 at home and at least get 3 other 3rd places If you are happy with your number 6 not beating an opposition rider at home then so be it ⦠makes for a long season Rushen is a great young talent but if he is riding at 6 and only scoring 3 and your rising star canāt help bale him out then it will be a very long season1 point

But thatās to be expected away from home because thatās the way Ipswich have been forced to build their team. Youāll see that type of scoring from those riders quite often this year. You say ācollectively they werenāt greatā, but āCollectivelyā those ordinary looking scores all totted up nicely to a meeting winning result.1 point

Eh? You say you never said Fricke was the problem and then go on to explain exactly why Fricke IS the problem in the very same post. That hole looks deep enough, you can stop digging.1 point

They were quite clearly fast enough to score points but scored 5, 7, 6, 3 and 5. Thats not a criticism, they collectively weren't great but weren't bad either and of course did more than enough to help win the meeting. I agree the tac sub made the scoreline closer than it really was and to reiterate I don't agree with home tac subs, I'd get rid. Ipswich never looked like not winning from heat 2 onwards really, Lynn got close a couple of times but it never felt like they could reel the Witches in. I am not a panicker at all and have become quite level headed about sport nowadays, we are all emotional about the teams we support but I find it easier to be objective as I've got a bit older. Lynn's team has potential and it is going to take a while for that to be realised but on last night's evidence speed isn't the issue. Some will think that the tail will stay long for the whole season and I understand the argument but I just can't see the two reserves not improving. We shall see. Ultimately if you gate poorly you ain't going to win many speedway meetings, its ever been thus and Lynn need to sort that out above all else. Ipswich have embarrassed them from the traps this week.1 point

I agree with your opinion and many, many parents and helpers were focused on track time for their charges but with the exception of a minority these virtual "clubs" were awash with egos. As I mentioned previously well intentioned, sorry I wasn't ignoring your previous post.1 point

There WILL be KO CUP, BSN and the Harbour Masters Challenge fixtures to be slotted in. The latter probably dependent on getting enough young riders to commit to a midweek meeting!?1 point

I thought Cooper rode well tonight, unlucky nor to score more. He might be only 16 but he is a trier, needs to work on his gating but he will be OK.1 point

I agree with your first point, I don't see the rush for him to be a top 6 Prem rider in his first season as a 16 year old. Not sure if have recommended him as the RS either, felt there was no harm, starting in the Champ only & if he's scoring well, then look to step up. But I wouldn't say he's been "thrown to the Wolves" he could simply have said no thank you to the offer of a top 6 team place.1 point

One of the things that has possibly held Tom back a bit (in the nicest possible way) was having Emil and Jason there! Saying that he will have learned a lot so his chance to be a no 1 is here! Wishing him the best of luck as I really think heās a great rider in the making! He pops out and wins heat one against Fricke which is very impressive! great result for the witches - concerns for the Stars as ever early in the season!1 point

Council have no intention to grant planning for houses. Local MP saying all the right things Who knows what the actual agreement is but seems as though this season is secure at least1 point

Agreed, imagine if you'd have said 30 years ago that at 48 this young whippersnapper will still be gunning down the Stars in the next century you'd have been carted away by men in white coats!1 point

My prediction was awful 𤣠On another night could've been a different result, some seem to be pressing panic buttons/writing off Lynn's season already after two meetings! They will have better results.1 point

Pleased to see Scotty contributing. Nobody is expecting double figures from him, but if he can contribute 5/6/7 in the middle order then job done. Think thereās more to come from this team. PHB will surely settle and improve as the meetings go on and once he does, we look very solid if unspectacular.1 point

Great result, Every Rider getting at least a paid win this time. Take a bow Tom Brennan, From Rising Star to No.1 who beat GP Rider Max Fricke 2-1 in a Head-to-Head battle around the AFA is some achievement. Never rated King's Lynn before a wheel was turned and if Jan Kvech continues his downward spiral at King's Lynn then the Stars may even finish behind Northampton once the League gets underway because the Stars tail end is simply out of it's depth at this level. Pressure on young Cooper Rushen is ridiculous and it could hinder his progress and knock his confidence imo.1 point

Should never be allowed for home teams! Huge bugbear of mine that.1 point

As is usually the case, the music blasts out, the "DJ "in the box doesn't realise the infield announcer is talking and the Announcer in the box seems to be stop start, or completely inaudible. I would like one of the Promotion, track staff etc to attend in the stand just after the start line for the whole meeting to witness what a shambles the PA system is.1 point
