  1. A couple defeats in the grand scheme of things is nothing, the win is having speedway to watch and enjoy if you make the playoffs great if not at least you got your team to support and follow. Keep the crowd levels up and enjoy it while you got it.

  2. Ian he was 16 with 1 years experience in the sport! What about the 15 point maximum at Redcar? 13 points Glasgow? It’s people like YOU that completely ruins our sport for the young guns. He’s beat Jason Doyle while Jason was leading the GP if I remember rightly!? Chris holder, bomber, majic , Lawson and plenty more!!! he was 16/17 with no previous experience in speedway but still people like you didn’t give him a proper chance other than pick on his bad days and kept quite on his good! I really hope he doesn’t return to speedway as I’ve followed him from a young age and the talent he has on two wheels is outstanding. Speedway is 50% bike set up and 50% rider ability and with his lack of experience I am sure his bike was set up incorrectly a lot of the time. He was one of the best mx riders in the world for his age where his talent on a bike was shown by his ability. He can now do the same with flattrack as it’s not the bike set up that wins races it’s the rider riding it.

  3. Im Jody's dad. I dont normally respond/comment on this sort of thing, but I would like to draw a line under this NOW................. There is NO friction/tension/bad feeling or animosity between Jody and Cooper or our families......They are mates and we have known each other for several years......

  4. Don't think there's any evidence of substantial time out. I've seen it mentioned a week to 10 days out at most somewhere. The biggest challenge will be team bonding & friendship between Scott & Rushen. Some family members are feeling pretty angry. At the end of the day, this is one of the most dangerous motorsports in the world, accidents happen. If you can't handle it, find something else. For me, Rushen did absolutely zero wrong, people need to chill a little.

  5. Looks like he's doing one every week if you check his channel out... it's exhausting just watching it, cant help but think he could do without the wasted trips to Poland though. DT comes across really well, something that just hasn't been transmitted by any other medium before, who only seems to be interested in if he's going to make any changes or what the track is like, the guy actually has a personality! Who knew 🤷‍♂️

  6. Exactly the kind of thing every club should do on match day... 15-20 mins on YT...

  7. Absolutely agree but this backing off on a speedway track went back more than last season. I really hope he's found his place because he's a natural on a bike and I wish him all the best.

  8. Hauls is not going to turn the chance down though.Thats the chance all Clubs take with foreign signings. He is not the only rider underperforming or not living up to expectations so far this season.IMO

  10. You have no idea about mental issues, absolutely nothing to do with feeling sad, anyway it is a physical issue with Craig at present.

  11. I doubt he would want another venture in a dying sport

  13. Good luck to the lad if he's found a type of bike racing that suits him, meself and Dean Machine and a few others were only saying what we'd witnessed last season when he jacked in speedway, no one was doubting the lads talent on a bike, hopefully if he continues to do well and excel in Flat Track racing he may well be tempted back into speedway at some point.

  15. I don't think it's lack of interest. it's nerves from having far too much pressure heaped on him.

  16. Me thinks that if newman and Bowes can finish the season with averages between 4.5 and 5(obviously anything over would be great)with the strength in the remainder it's a medal winning team.Thunk some supporters expect every rider to be heat leader standard!

  17. Yes, thanks for the correction, I've got my stats wrong, apologies, not intentional 👍🏻

  18. Don't think you need a ringer, Cairns and Rushen will win your trophies this year

  19. Yes I agree, we are always castigated for our track and told its not all about winning but if you dont win meetings crowd levels drop even if your track produces great speedway. I think Poole would make changes like bringing in Newman for Gilkes recently. We would not have employed Craig Cook and he would not have wanted to be at Poole, if he is out for a while then change him and Vinnie would be a good plan, no idea who for though.

  20. I'm struggling to find the evidence @IainB but I'm sure Boughen had a purple patch in 2024 just before he had a nasty crash at the British U21 final at Redcar after which his scores returned to the norm. EDIT here's a 13+1 at Glasgow: https://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/thread/22903/oxford-championship-08-09-2024

  21. I wouldn't be adverse to signing Simon in place of Mario, obviously would prefer another Villads,( but one who was available), but Simon could have some cracking meetings,he is very much a team man, yes he might have an odd duff meeting, but to me Mario does not look interested, and a change for Simon could give him a boost. Let's face it , he would do a lot better than Mario at present.

  22. British motocross champion, British super cross champion, world no 8 motocross, European mx champion, speedway 500cc champion, representing team GB speedway in Poland 15 points. now goes flat track for factory signing deal with Ducati. He tried flattrack just over a month ago and has only done two practice days on flattrack ever! Two practice days, One Italian championship for his 3rd outing finishing 2nd and his 4th day riding flat track he goes to the world championships in Roden and wins it. Maybe if we didn’t have so many idiots in this country who knock the youngsters on there bad days they wouldn’t disappear 🫠

  23. Exactly, these days you should be grateful you have a team to support, a couple of home defeats early in the season is not season ending. The list of teams that are closed is very large, to avoid being the next one is paramount. I went to Oxford a couple of weeks ago and heard someone say it was the last meeting but thankfully that wasnt the case.

  24. It wasn't the first time imo, I seen Mr Barker doing it in one of his earlier races. I thought the standard of refereeing was questionable today. The heat when Tate, Nicholls and Batchelor got to the first corner together Nicholls was in the middle and looked to be getting the elbows out, Tate went down just as they were turning the corner, the ref didn't put the red lights on. Tom Spencer then went into the airfence on turn two the ref then put the lights on. He subsequently decreed an unsatisfactory start and excluded both riders. For me a fair decision would have been all 4 back . Tate went down purely as a result of first bend bunching so to exclude both riders I thought was definitely unfair on Tate.

  26. Take your kings Lynn hat off mate I for one am not castigating Cooper … I believe he meant to go a bit left and when he did coupled with the looking behind him he went further over than he thought My youngest daughter now 17 did roller speed skating and was a multi british champion …. One of her very first outdoor races at the age of 6 she was coming down the final straight and looked behind to see her fast finishing rival … the looking made her veer to the left … her skill set at that stage meant she drifted …. She was pulled in front of the officials and given a warning and rightly so although her mum thought the officials harsh I believed they were correct … age is not a factor and should not be taken into account Cooper got this wrong and I don’t believe maliciously …. The fact he is the best youngster we have and is showing outstanding form doesn’t come into it … I’m sure those around him will have had a word and I expect cooper himself will see the reaction (some of which is way over the top) and learn from it Many many ex riders have all said Cooper was at fault ranging from Steachmann, Silver , Stonehewer .. down to the likes of James Brundle…… I’m inclined to go with ex riders opinion rather than a fan who can be biased to his or her club Cooper clearly at fault … not malicious or dirty and hopefully he has took it all on board

  30. It’s imperative that the foxes start being competitive at home before they lose the crowds. Klint looks ill at ease on his new home track and Lidsey is not showing a lot of determination unless he makes the start. maybe Keynan Rew for klint as it’s a track shape he would master fairly quickly. Really need a Jason Doyle type signing

  33. No passing on this track today. No contest and little action doesn't make for a great meeting.

  34. Calm down people, we are not yet in the middle of May and only had one Championship meeting whilst progressing nicely in the KO Cup and BSN series. I get why Glasgow might be looking at changes having been knocked out of 2 competitions already, but lets not get too paranoid. With last Friday's postponement at Redcar meaning Cooper won't get a 'proper average' til 7 days after the rearranged Redcar fixture on Friday15th, and with Poole involved in KO Cup meetings in between, it looks like the Poole v Glasgow meeting on 27th will be even more interesting!! (Incidentally, re. Beau Bailey, his 2026 plans are set and he does not intend to do UK racing this year. However I have it on good authority that if he (his family) change their minds then Poole have first dibs, depending on the team situation at the time).

  36. Sorry, HAUSL has to go, 1 decent ride a match is not good enough. We need another rider to come in on a 5 point average,if we wait until after the Workington match,HAUSL average will plummett to about 3,and we wont we able to make a change, and he'll be there the rest of the season unless HE raps it in himself. Looks to me as if he is not interested, body language feels like he doesnt want to be here doesnt get into any conversations with team mates.Dont think anything CAMI BROWN would say would inspire him to better things.Mind you anything BROWN says wouldnt motivate anyone.

  39. That’s fair enough mate, never seen it happen at a meeting before so was unsure. They’re claiming because barker committed the offence before Grmek’s bike packed up he was allowed back in. But the red lights didn’t come on until the first lap was nearly completed.

  41. Comets had 10 heat winners, would’ve been 11 had JJ’s chain not went in Heat 6. And still lost 🙈 don’t know the stats but that can’t happen very often, think it shows how reliant on 3 riders we’ve been lately

  42. Great racing though, more passes in one match than you would see all season at some tracks.

  43. Couldn’t agree more again 👍🏻 Rushen was on that line quite a way before Harrison hit him, the referee’s only option was to exclude Luke

  44. . Yes it is cancelled and we have to find something else to do tonight but, we have ran meetings in worse forecasts than this. Clubs normally prepare the track to allow for the threat of poor weather, which we have seen happen in the past. Benefit today was no football so lot more hours available to work on the track and the could have put start time back to 7-30pm. Seen many a meeting on a wet track where after 3/4 heats track comes good. But decision is made so we just need to look forward to next Saturday.

  47. That's a ridiculous comparison. My choice to form a relationship with one girl when I was 16 was proven not be the best but I fail to see how that's related to racing a bike. Equally a 17 year old driver who's just passed their test may choose to drive around a bend on the opposite side of the road - when they kill others would you shrug it off, oh well they made a bad choice....? Every rider knows turning left on the straight, especially when another rider is so close, is a definite no no.
