Can he do any worse than Bangs has up to now? Possibly! But it’s a pretty low bar let’s be honest. Bangs has been utter crap. BUT, I’m not convinced now that Bangs is returning. The rumour was there, and now he’s “ill” for 28 days? Just what kind of illness does he have? If he’s not coming back either by his choice of the promotion/manager, then you’d hope they could come up with a better replacement than someone who has been out of the game for a while. It does give them 28 days though to have a good look around and do a deal with someone if Kennett doesn’t score many/any points I guess.3 points

I suspect his real name is Nicolas Klynovski who is a Russian FSB agent using the cover of pretending to be a speedway rider to send coded messages to the Kremlin which give hourly assessments out of 10, of Britain's ability to defend itself against an invasion3 points

Lets be honest as soon as they got them two youngsters in at 6 and 7 barring injuries it was game over, normally to get one rider who can add four points to his starting average should win you the league let alone two. Throw in Lawson who is one of the top three riders in the league, Zach Cook who is to good now for the championship by far, Kerr who is capable of getting anywhere between 3 and 15 on a standard night, Newman who has ridden above expectations and being blessed in not having Bowes available which has strengthened them. Any team who got them two lads at reserve, so long as the promoter had even a tad bit of ambition was going to win the league baring injuries it's just as well they didn't get Beau Bailey for Bowes in the end as that would have been another possible 8 point rider coming in on 4 starting average.2 points

Nostalgia ain't what it used to be. Even so, Kennett is hactually two weeks younger than Danny King. Can't imagine he will appear to be any worse than Hellström-Bängs in terms of on-track effort. He rode at Iwade for Kent Kings against Mildenhall on 10th May, beaten only by James Shane's in the final heat: Eagles: Edward Kennett 14(5), Ben Morley 12(5), Jack Kingston 11+1(5), Connor King 5+2(5), Alex Chadd 5+1(5), Nathan Hargrave 5(5). – 52 Fen Tigers: James Shanes 12(5), Ben Whalley 10(5), Sam Woods 7+1(5), Kenzie Cossey 6+1(5), Patryk Daniszewski 3(5), Max Broadhurst 0(5) – 38 I know this means nothing in terms of how Kennett might perform in the Prem, but at least it shows he's kept fit and is still interested in riding.2 points

If it wasn’t meant to be out there then it wouldn’t be would it. I’ll stay quiet in future whenever there’s any concerns regarding our 1-7. Forgot this was a dictatorship and not a place to have conversations. 🤡2 points

shows the sorry state the sport is in in the country when eddie kennett is returning at the top level.2 points

Trust me, I would love it to be a success story,, just like I wanted Crump to be, I love nostalgia and would love to watch a team or meeting of Golden greats. I just don't think it happens very often where someone has been away from the cutting edge competition and made a great success. Also he was already on the slide a fair bit when he last raced at this level, but like you say,, with Scott and Hurry and Danny, it will be like being around old mates. I hope he atleast beats the RS riders regularly. Also as mentioned, not moving for JJ was a big mistake, especially if they already knew things were going south with Bangs2 points

Do you really think this is the place to post such things ? Yes I'm aware of a post on social media, but surely that's up to Craig and Facebook, not you putting it out on here 🤔2 points

How is having diagnosed conditions self inflicted? Honestly the older generation on here are nothing but ….. I’ll leave you to fill in the blank but people like you are part of the problem as to why there is such a mental health crisis today. Cookie has his struggles and he has opened up on these in the past. But yet there’s still people like you who come with the old wise crack “ never existed in my day.” Well sorry to break it to you, times change. You unempathetic …..2 points

Expecting a battling and thrilling meeting on a superbly prepared water saturated track against our rivals for the title. Glasgow come as one of the favourites for winning the championship and are stacked with quality riders. Harris loves the wide open spaces of Wimborne Road and as always is a real threat. Howarth is always very quick. Hagon is a top youngster and had a year at Poole. Smith has done many laps around here and Harrison is a battler. Flint can score a few. And then I woke up. 57-33. Dust from heat 3 regardless of track prep. 35c tomorrow.2 points

Sorry but you are right, if it wasn't for Harris and Flint it would have given embarrassment a whole new meaning. Hagon is I think worse now than when he was a Pirate, there has to be a better rider available. The play-offs seem a long shot for the Tigers this year.1 point

I reckon they ought to do Saturday’s on Friday’s result - ie the winner 1st pick 2nd 2nd pick etc, however they just do a ballot at the end of Friday’s GP.1 point

Well done Pirates. I think it’s safe to say they can start engraving ‘POOLE’ on to the KO Cup, BSN Series and Championship trophies now. An embarrassing night for us. Good to see Harris back in amongst the point, as I’ve found myself saying after every most meetings: “what chance do you have when”… your two-times and reigning British U21 champion doesn’t score a single point from five rides, Howarth can’t exceed the number on his race suit in points, etc. What’s the solution? It’s outright underperformance.1 point

Tigers were always bringing Bomber back for entertainment value around Ashfield. Once the one rider over 8 came in Dan was a certainty to miss out. Also his average came from riding at 3, not 1 or 5, so there was a little bit of a risk in that, however Dan seems to have stepped up this year. Bomber's issues this year seem to be bike/engine related (not heard anything publicly re his lower than normal scoring). He has just not looked as quick as last year1 point

“FTG” or “X passes X on B2 L1”.😂 We’re rubbishe, but when the champions are serving up this sort of racing on a weekly basis, what chance has the sport got?1 point

Do you remember when Rick left it until the last meeting to nudge over a 6 point average to be able to come back the following year from memory he got a 15 point max which I think nudged him up to something like 6.011 point

Largely agree with Baldyman here - it’s not often I am surprised by some speedway news but this really is a big one! Didn’t see that coming at all.1 point

Fines incoming for the riders!!!!! Or... Maybe a compromise agreement to not ride elsewhere when they are fit???.. I fully understand Poland's view... If I am laying out over half a million quid out to you, I wouldn't expect you to call in sick due to getting injured at another job you are doing, for much less, for someone else..1 point

I'm actually really happy we have a team. In reality we were never going to Emil and Jason in the same team. It's still a competitive team in my eyes and we've won 5 out of 7. I accept that we should not accept mediocrity, and certainly in the early 2000s we had some poor sides at Ipswich. However, the sport must come first and we go back to basics. The sports current administrators are playing the violins on the deck as the water level is rising and it simply cannot continue. When some of my fellow Ipswich supporters moan, just think of those who no longer have a team or track.1 point

I think you will find that "someone" will be on here soon explaining why Poole are very much the underdogs...1 point

I'll just throw this into the mix, could it be... throttle jockeys? I just watched the 2007 Cardiff GP Final on the Speedway360 show and the throttle control that all the riders showed on a 5h1t show of a track was quite unbelievable to watch. With the prominence of Polish Speedway could it be that the latest generation of riders are being brought up on tracks that require the throttle to be pinned to the stopper rather than days gone by where riders were brought up on British tracks that require a bit of technique and throttle control? 🤔1 point
