  1. Andrew Chisholm is in charge of the day to day running of the club, not Coleman who has his hands full elsewhere. Chisholm and Hurry put the team together, and decide on team matters, that was confirmed before the season started. I’m not quite getting this overreaction either. It’s all explained in yesterday’s article. They planned to use Kennett while the uncertainty around Bangs continued. They were less than impressed when a scheduled practice session after Thursdays meeting didn’t materialise when Kennett didn’t bother turning up so quite rightly binned the idea. They then booked Mulford as a guest for Thursdays meeting under the impression that Bangs would still be unavailable. That changed literally yesterday when Bangs himself is quoted as saying he only received the paperwork from Doctors to resume racing yesterday I have been working really, really hard to get some papers from the doctors to allow me to get started as soon as possible. I got that today, and now I am ready.” What have they actually done wrong here? I agree it’s an unusual set of circumstances, but circumstance it is. People are being overly critical and typical of this forum, overreacting to trivial matters.

  2. Rye House Speedway Needs You Put the date in your diaries – 11 August 2026. The long awaited Appeal to determine Rye House Stadium’s future will be heard at the East Hertfordshire District Council Chamber, East Hertfordshire District Council Offices, Wallfields, Pegs Lane, Hertford, SG13 8EQ on 11 August 2026. This is a public hearing and presents supporters with an opportunity to show the level of interest in saving Rye House Stadium as a Speedway venue. A strong turnout matters. It demonstrates that Rye House Speedway is not forgotten, not abandoned and not without supporters prepared to stand up for it. If you support Rye House Speedway keep this date free. If you’ve booked a holiday – cancel (or postpone) it. If you’re thinking of booking one, avoid Tuesday 11 August 2026. The decision to hold a public hearing instead of dealing with the appeal on paper reflects the scale of public interest. Now that interest must be seen. More details will follow — but for now, save the date and be there.

  3. You mean the bloke that went against the cartel and has been ostracised for it by looking after his riders by making sure they were properly insured? Yeah him.

  5. Was really looking forward to this weekend, but no Bewley has taken the shine off it for me and probably lots of others. Been the most entertaining rider around this year and will be hugely missed.

  6. What are you smoking? Coleman doesn’t chose the team or guests does he! 😂he already said before that he does other parts of the business and team building isn’t his strong point. I guess you didn’t attend the Witches media day and just want to be another keyboard warrior without any info backing it up. Many Ipswich fans would be shaking their head at the way Chris Louis left the club so the less said about his thoughts on things the better.

  7. There are two GP's this weekend in the UK, at one of the best tracks in the world, with one night already sold out.. That alone shows that the sport in this country can draw plenty of people "when done right", and also shows plenty of UK fans are still willing to pay out plenty to watch it.. Showing there is still a strong affinity from many towards it... Hopefully, the likes of Richard Coleman can lead the changes so every UK meeting is "done right" and the future is a positive one...

  8. At least some people are trying I guess! More than some people on here do, just constantly moan and have nothing positive to say at all. If everyone had the attitude of some people on this forum the door in speedway would have been shut a long time ago, and before anyone wants to make a smart comment about “maybe they should have” then actually think why are you even in this forum. People SHOULD want speedway to succeed, everyone can mocks each other and clubs in meetings when someone isn’t good enough but ti then constantly slate the entire sport doesn’t do any favours either.

  9. quite a few contributors seem to be trolling the forum for some reason...over the winter there was too little comms. now its too much. i welcome the more regular developments. at least it shows we are being proactive in managing the team

  10. I wouldn't want to pay twenty five quid for a rushed through meeting which doesnt even last an hour, and probably only goes to heat 10. Bottom line is that on this particular occasion Lynn have got it right.

  12. Note in the British Speedway article YOUNGSTERS CHASE HARBOUR TITLE that Poole can't decide if Charlie Southwick is male or female 🤔 "...... young Charlie Southwick is certainly a local lad who is absolutely going in the right direction as we saw her recently when he guested for us"

  13. Sad that Dan is injured but there are plenty of racers in the field who should thrive around the NSS.

  14. By a long way they will... The Aces fans alone will number circa 3000 if last year is replicated...

  17. Started at 8.30 and got heavier where i was. Might of got to heat 10 at a push. Then you would of had people moaning that they didn't get their moneys worth, and rightly so. So on this occasion.. Early call off = Buster gets S##t if the rain had stayed away... Run it till ht 10= Buster gets S##t , fans not happy.. Rains all Monday, track is under water = Buster still gets S##t because he still called it off to early..

  19. Last week the trophy room got broken into, I believe... The police quickly caught the bloke who did it though... He was spotted walking through the town with a Green and Yellow carpet on his shoulders as he said that was the only thing he could find worth nicking... Buddum Tish....

  26. It's not strange because the forecast was wet all afternoon and then heavier rain from 8pm, and that was today as well as yesterday. It looks by the met office radar that it is now finally starting to arrive but much later than it was supposed to. Quite why anyone thinks that Lynn wouldn't want to ride a Leicester side minus Thompson and Howarth is beyond me, they would have been much weaker than with them fit.

  27. Well done Kings Lynn for the early call, torrential rain due very soon.

  28. I’d recommend the Longsite Sports & Social club down the road. There’s a collectors fare on and Lynn & Co will ply you with cheap booze. Plenty of banter with our Polish friends as well plus lots of speedway memorabilia to idle the time away with (mostly Aces based).

  29. You maybe right but not quite. 6500 is the maximum capacity for the NSS. Find a facility with a larger capacity and the fans will come.

  32. Thanks a long way off the mid 40's of ten plus years back sadly ,lord knows how the sport is to be saved in the UK if it even can be now. I sure don't know the answers its just tragic to see what can be such a brilliant sport absolutely bottom the pile as far as fanbase, sponsors and media interest goes. Its probably going to have to totally collapse and maybe an Eddie Hearn type figure might emerge to try and restart it but I can't help feeling team speedway will be finished in 5-10 years time and individual meetings will just be held ad-hoc round the UK.

  34. For me, he’s gone about it the right way. Hey boss, we’re signing Eddie. Great, let everyone know. Problem with Eddie so I’ll have to sort a replacement. Great, let everyone know. Great news, Phillip is back. Great, let everyone know. Alternatively at every of the above stages just keep the customers in the dark, I mean they will know when they arrive. Poor. One time, we had to make a change and the staging (cartel) promoter vetoed us putting any information out. We did leak it on social media outlets such as this though.

  35. John is still providing some speedway articles for the local newspapers & web sites. He did an interview with Stoney a couple of weeks ago about his Skinflint rally adventure.

  36. IF the meeting goes ahead, let’s just hope that Bangs comes back in refreshed after his enforced break, with a good attitude and a determination to do well and score some points. We all want him (well Ipswich fans anyway) to do well and be a success. Let’s hope he starts delivering so we don’t have to even look at potential replacements.
