So anze grmek rode last night at Plymouth then caught the same flight to Poland as Dan Thompson who rides for the same team as zach cook. Cook could have rode at Plymouth and got the same flight but Poole thought they could bring in Edwards who rides Plymouth better than cook but the powers to be were wise to this hence the reduced facility i.e 75% average blatantly caught out trying to cheat or complete lack of commitment from cook or maybe both you decide but these are the facts. Win at all costs backfired on the cheating pirates.10 points

Until championship speedway returns to a semi professional sport it will never be sustainable. How can our level of speedway be expected to finance flying riders around the world to ride. Leave that to the premiership and return our league to how things used to be when riders had jobs as well. Hardly a big ask when you're lucky if there are 4 meetings a month.5 points

A great days racing from Poland that had everything from nip and tuck racing to enthusiastic crowds. You could not ask for more as the riders never back off and chase every point. Thanks to all riders/teams for today’s entertainment and special thanks to those providing the links that enable us to watch great racing.4 points

So now you are saying he missed a meeting to be a mechanic? If that’s correct no guest facility should have been allowed and a ban should be issued for withholding services.4 points

I'm all for hard riding,it's his reckless and out of control riding from him I don't like. There's riders like Zmarzlik,Doyle,Lindgren who ride hard but 95% of the time they are in control of what they are doing. If there were 16 riders like Woryna in the GP's,you would probably only end up with half of them at the end of the series.4 points

At the end of season Poole in play offs. Plymouth in bottom 3. Luke very un lucky last night,a crash and mechanical. Hope to see him guesting for us again soon. Why are Plymouth so jealous of a good team.4 points

It's hilarious how its always 'we were massively weakened' when the guests don't work out yet when ringers score big points its never 'we were massively strengthened'.4 points

We've just gotta except that speedway in the UK these days is a tinpot sport compared to how its ran in Poland and the money that can be earned riding over there, Poland its very professional, over here its Mickey Mouse.3 points

But he wasn't excluded , was unfit for the rerun,so irr allowed3 points

Problem in Dan's case though is that Lodz barely give him any rides to earn money, Kemp was in the same boat and eventually signed for Workington. I think the Championship may be watered down drastically next season to exclude anyone riding for a Polish Club.2 points

The biggest problem will be available riders to run the so called Premiership if Poland bring in the one league only in '27, not just all the riders that ride in the Polish leagues who ride over here, but also the amount of British senior riders who DU more often then not during the season at some point, their all getting on age wise and cant go on forever. Nicholls 48, Harris 44, King/Lawson 40, Cook 39, Barker 38, Wright 37, Kerr 36, to name a few. Yeah there's a few decent youngsters coming thru but not enough atm to replace those mentioned above when they finally retire.2 points

No it was Lawson on TV who went to the loo and left the door open dureing one of the track grades.2 points

You were implying and trying to be clever. I then asked you a question, you can reply to that instead of trying to be a smart arse.2 points

Hello everyone I’m just happy to see my team last night, I don’t really want to get into the politics of it all but if Arthur who is a true Poole fan is saying young will is riding in Poland today and rode at Plymouth last night it makes a bit of a mockery what cook did last night surely being on the spanner’s for someone in the gp if that’s true is not on and sticking two fingers up to the guys and girls who help pay his wages on the outside looking in it all seems a bit bizarre, if I’m wrong Poole fans I’m sorry2 points
-
That attitude is exactly why UK speedway gets shoved to the bottom of everyone's priorities. Cook has signed a contract with your club, he should honour it. Why are you not p1ssed off that he's decided he couldn't be bothered to make it work, so has just dumped your club? Instead it's just "oh well, Plymouth is rubbish anyway lol 🤷🏻♂️" and no blame apportioned to the rider who didn't turn up. He's happy to take the money when it suits him, but not when another club comes along offering more money. I'd almost guarantee that if it was an important individual meeting (that benefitted Cook himself) at Plymouth, and he had to make it to Poland this afternoon, the travel options would miraculously appear.2 points

I don't tell lies clive, you are the biggest liar on the forum and have been called out many times poor attempt at reverse psychology.2 points

If they do sign for polish teams any replacement can only be NDL should be a new rule2 points

Someone on updates was saying Andrew has ploughed over £600k into Worky from the start so you can't fault his heart and commitment if that is true. If this Poland and one other league situation in 2027 is true UK speedway will be forced into making some hard decision next year whether they like it or not. If the current second division ends up going back to the standard of the national league a few years back before the powers that be obliterated it, that could be a good thing. One old hand per team, 4-5 English youngsters and maybe a couple of young aussies like the lad at reserve for Berwick who are committed to being in the UK the full season could be the way forward. Whatever way you slice it if you can't get more punters/sponsors in through the door, the costs are going to need to come down by a third to a half.2 points

Seeing Luke, cooper and will on BSN is always a joy. So enthusiastic and loads of charisma. Great to see them progress. Darren Thompson dad of the twins is always brilliant with letting kids have photos on the bikes. I guess once the pressures of deadlines of getting to airports starts it unfortunately changes things.2 points

Have you? Im guessing you have or you would not have asked. I assume you think you need to have ridden there in order to voice an opinion2 points

Does it really matter now, Plymouth won and Poole lost, let's just move on to the next meetings. I personally don't agree with it, specially as the meeting in Poland was not until Sunday, they will be the death of speedway in this country2 points

We dont know what time Poland want Cook there for. Dan T sometimes doesnt even get a ride, so slightly different. Anyway I am sure Poole would rather have Zach there as a first choice! If Zach doesnt want to ride Plymouth, can't say i really blame him.2 points

7 GPs and 7 winners. People will realise next year that we are blessed this year to actually have the best riders of this generation all in the Grand Prix (apart from Nazar) but minus the Russians. Anybody can turn up and win this year, I would have happily seen this line up (official line up) go again next season.2 points

Someone on the Plymouth Facebook said Poole fans were treated to some proper speedway, loads of overtaking2 points

Im sure a battered and bruised luke is grateful for your contribution to straightening his bent bike whilst guesting for you.2 points

from what ive been told glasgow were stopped of signing a rider to cover howarth because the paperwork took a day longer to process over the deadline might be just normal speedway rumours or might be true but glasgow now have only 6 riders so why are scunny any different1 point

That is an anomaly of the rules, brought in for no logical reason this year. Counts as a ride in his average but not in his completed races count.1 point

Correct, and the guy on pro boards that seemed to want Nick banned for life might want to consider how Reid ended up with fractured vertebrae.1 point

Get well soon Tate . A great comeback after Tates crash when the Comets looked to really push on for the win after it looks like Berwick would win the meeting . All the lads chipped in with vital points , Drew and Jonas especially won some good races.1 point

Some great racing at Leszno,Beau Bailey looks the real deal.1 point

Would agree, and we have another reserve who rides a couple of races a month at home and does nothing away from home . Battye has been a brilliant signing and has surprised many IMO and considering his injury has done Ok when coming back.👍1 point

We said something similar on the pod this week, more in terms of consistency than effort necessarily but they have both been disappointing this year having started on averages they really should have improved on. Both could score 14 or 4 on any given day. If I were building a team right now for 2027 I'd try to keep Fricke, Bomber and the two young lads and have three fresh faces.1 point

All this missing meetings here to be in Poland stuff has to stop next year, as I've said several times before the BSPL need to grow a set and veto signings where riders are going to be absent regularly, and in the case of FIM meetings organise the fixtures much, much better.1 point

Thank you for highlighting this to people on here. Personally, I'm well aware of the above, having been an accountant since I left school, many, many, many moons ago. However, a lot of folk don't know about this stuff and it's always good to point it out. My post was referencing Workington's former operating company going to the wall after accounts weren't filed since 19canteen. Therefore, I was asking if the reason the present venture isn't in trouble at the moment is because the accounts aren't due yet. Perhaps I'm old fashioned and I just expect company officials to carry out their duties on time. Surely the same mistakes won't be repeated this time. That would be absolutely unforgivable. Good luck to the Comets 🙂1 point

Good summary. Healthy to now have a three horse race instead of a two horse race. Makes the final few Gp’s even more interesting. Really looking forward to next weekend even more now after that last night. On Woryna, for all the criticism of his hard riding, his heats are simply unmissable. You ain’t getting up to make a cup of tea while he’s out on track!1 point

If that's keeping averages down then Poole are shockingly bad at it. Lawson, Cairns, Newman and Kerr basically rode to their average, 4 from four will cause only a small drop in Rushen's average, and Harrison/Ward are irrelevant. If a team is dropping averages they will be going for narrow wins and the occasional big defeat, not narrow defeats.1 point

can you not make a new thread for Eastbourne?....i come on here for regular Brandon updates and have to trawl through updates on other venues.1 point

Our Premiership barely holds up against 2.Ekstraliga let alone the top league. Perhaps they could join the same league as Landshut and Daugavpils and it can almost become a sort of European league1 point

I’m not really sure you can change too much re the surface because of the clay content and the stocks? The conditions Dan was talking about was due to them buggering about with the track because of Dicksons demands despite him being told by those that actually know about track prep, that it would make things much worse. Perhaps they’ll look again at uprooting the drains and lowering the inside to create artificial banking that Louis was going to do before he shelved the idea due to costs involved. Who knows. They need to try something because for whatever reason, the track has gotten worse this year and the entertainment almost non existent. It’s never been the NSS, but it’s been better than this.1 point

A 28 day contract is a minimum of 28 days. Hence Redcar signing Nicolai Klint on a 28 day contract and he stayed 15 weeks.,1 point
