Yes I said used to be, so many clubs could do with other income wether this is from other sports, football , Dirt track, or even festivals. If I was lucky enough to be in a position to build a track/club from scratch (with some very deep pockets) the first thing I'd be doing is following the Industry Hills model in the US where the track is essentially in a giant open sided warehouse. No rain offs to worry about. Then it would need to be big enough to facilitate 7 aside 4g football pitches, possibly a gym attached. You could run event's/summer/Christmas festivals etc there Making the track suitable for other disciplines such as flat track would also be a must. Because the vast majority of tracks in the UK have been around so long there isn't the infrastructure there to build upon to diversify. The stark difference in the infrastructure at Leicester to Belle Vue who were only built 4/5 years apart is more than evident Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Richard Coleman wants greater demarcation between the leagues, so you presume Ipswich would be one, and Mark Lemon ensured a top tier due to playing a major part in delivering Northampton... He also said one or two Championship clubs are not in a "perfect situation" but the aim is to bring all nine to the tapes in 2027.. Edinburgh ran to a crowd of just over 350 during the World Cup and he said several clubs ran similar numbers.. Not sure where this is all going, given its August and there still doesnt appear to be any sort of plan yet for 2027... Another excellent Speedway Star with a very inciteful interview with Kyle Howarth as to why he has taken a break, which is linked to the current set up... John Campbell article appears to have a feel of well if we the Championship don't start planning now who will and when. It is obvious Mark Lemon is desperate to retain the Premiership, maybe he has forgotten he rode in the Premier League back in the day. The article talks about 8 Premiership teams but then questions where the other two teams are going to come from as both Poole and Glasgow have stated they will be in the Championship in 2027.
