Looks like Tom is starting to show his potential ,he was putting himself about in Poland at the week-end too.Hope he can stay injury free it’s along season.

One of the things that has possibly held Tom back a bit (in the nicest possible way) was having Emil and Jason there! Saying that he will have learned a lot so his chance to be a no 1 is here! Wishing him the best of luck as I really think he’s a great rider in the making! He pops out and wins heat one against Fricke which is very impressive!

great result for the witches - concerns for the Stars as ever early in the season!

Awful team building by the Stars to throw 2 youngsters in at 6 and 7 potentially zapping their confidence

I presume they accepted the opportunities...?

100% agree.

Cooper being a No.6 at PREM level doesn't benefit him as a Rider at all imo when everyone else has started their PREM experience as a No.7 when being part of the Rising Star Scheme, Riders like Brennan, Flint, Rowe, D. Thompson etc.

Cooper Rushen has been thrown to the Wolves imo.

I agree with your first point, I don't see the rush for him to be a top 6 Prem rider in his first season as a 16 year old. Not sure if have recommended him as the RS either, felt there was no harm, starting in the Champ only & if he's scoring well, then look to step up.

But I wouldn't say he's been "thrown to the Wolves" he could simply have said no thank you to the offer of a top 6 team place.

I do feel like Lynn were thought of as a strong team by the majority & Ipswich as potentially wooden spoonists, hasn't taken people long to change their mind lol!

I always thought Lynn had too long a tail & suggested Gusts instead of 2 x rising stars (pretty much got laughed at for that).

I thought Cooper rode well tonight, unlucky nor to score more. He might be only 16 but he is a trier, needs to work on his gating but he will be OK.

I’m sure someone will point to the fact that this isn’t against the rules, but it should be. There’s always an element of home advantage regardless of track conditions, but it’s a fact track conditions can vary from meeting to meeting. A home team shouldn’t be allowed to spend a whole afternoon fine tuning the perfect set ups on the actual day of a meeting. It may not exactly be “cheating”, but it’s definitely off.

Well it seems the whole afternoon just wasn't long enough to do the trick  :D

I'm not saying it's definitely wrong for Cooper to step up so soon, or that it definitely won't work out, just that it could prove disadvantageous if it hurts his confidence in such a tough position. He could have a long career in front of him, so thought "why take the risk"?

Obviously didn't do Robert Lambert any harm, but most riders take smaller steps.

You make fair points... I'm split on whether it's a bit quick or not... was impressed by his effort even when his own riders didn't help him by getting in his way or not looking for him in the first 2 bends.

Don’t worry they’ll be saying it again after we’ve been battered at Belle Vue next Monday 😁

Suppose this result goes some way to prove that getting dialled in on the day of the match means nothing for the home team. The problem with that is that there’s an away team in the equation. And the fact that they are probably better has an effect on the score of the meeting in the end. Donald God Trump knows how to win away from home .. allegedly

I’ll just repost this from page one of this thread. They started with Fricke and then got it all wrong. Only two trophies available and they’re already out of one of them. They’re going to have to change one of the middle men and either Rushen, or move Rushen to rising star and remove Scott and find a couple of 4-5 pointers. Do nothing and they won’t even make the play offs.

Lynn still very much in contention for the wooden spoon

They must have been gutted when Ipswich got bought as they were eyeing fourth without them at that time...

But then happy when Northampton got confirmed as they maybe now won't  be bottom....

Must be a rollercoaster of emotions....:D

Baring injuries Northampton should be shoe in for the spoon.

What this result show is that Leicester were correct in not signing Fricke. His average is to high for the six man limit below 40 points. As a result they have to run an inexperienced No6 who is going to find it tough at this level. Cooper is a great talent as shown by his paid max at Poole so I hope that riding at 6 does not hurt his confidence. I suspect its going to be another long old season for Lynn fans.

There's absolutely zero reason for any Stars fans to panic. I'd argue that the points scored is quite encouraging. Had Kvech scored 8-9 (expected) at No5 the result could easily have been reversed.

Regardless of how they got the points, 4 from Castagna & 3 from Rushen is fine.

Move the top 5 riding order to:-

1, Fricke 2, Castagna 3, Kvech 4, Harris, 5, Cook,

it will be far more solid

Not necessarily. Fricke himself isn’t the problem although it does inevitably make things difficult to build the rest of the team on a reduced team total. It looks like their issue was also signing a near 7 pointer and two 6 and a half pointers just below him. That doesn’t look wise at the moment.
