It is irrelevant where the AGM is held. some folk seem to be of the opinion that the money they pay to attend meetings is somehow being wasted on an AGM instead of investing it on tracks/riders or any other similar direct aspect of a meeting. In reality, the promoters are investing their time and money in attending the AGM to discuss their business interests - if, in future years anybody on this forum wishes to influence where the AGM is held - they should buy a speedway team/promoters license and after running their chosen venue for a season or two they might welcome spending a little more of their cash to spend three days enjoying a bit of winter sun with fellow promoters finalising plans for the following season. Meanwhile, lets hope the outcome of this AGM provides 2024 with some entertaining/exciting meetings beneficial to both spectator and promoter alike.

To be fair dropping that point the first of the two years was probably due to him having a cracking season in ‘21 where he upped his average from 6.33 to 8.12. Still maintain he’ll put a point minimum on a starting average of 5.71. He’s a better rider than that no doubt about it. Not sure the “downward spiral” is a permanent thing either. I’d label the riders in their late 30’s early 40’s like Iversen and Andersen as on a downward spiral, but not a 27 year old personally. Riders naturally decline as they hit the Autumn of their career but Ellis surely has an awful lot more in the tank as yet. I genuinely don’t know where he’s headed, I’ve heard the Ipswich rumour on here but I’m not sure there’s anything in that. Wherever he ends up I’d bet my last Rolo that a change will do him good and he’ll average 7+. Time will tell.

Adam had dropped a point each year for the last two seasons, he’s definitely on the downward spiral. He’ll be back in the points if he spends as much money on his UK kit as he does his European kit as that was 1:4 ratio last season so shows where some of the issues are

If somebody plans an action with the intention of killing somebody then the charge of murder is applicable. if the action wasn’t planned to cause death but does so, then the “lesser” charge of manslaughter would apply. No sport or person taking part in sport is exempt from common law. That said, circumstances exist in full contact sports such as boxing where both participants agree to a set of rules to play to which could result in a participants death. However, an action by a boxer outside of the rules of the sport causing permanent injury or death could result in criminal charges being made.

Thanks again……..good to get a fix of speedway at this time of year.

Which is the reason he’d be a good signing. He’s proven to be far better than a 5.5 riders for many seasons now. The riders that drop more than a point off their average due to one poor year are the smartest signings to make. Doesn’t always mean they’ll put that immediately back on of course so there’s no such thing as a dead cert. If he has another poor year next year and stays on a similar average then you can maybe start to ask a few more questions. I personally think whoever signs him though will be getting a rider who’ll put a point on his starting average at a bare minimum.

I'd say 5.5 average is the rider he is, very inconsistent.

Have to agree should have been handed over to the consortium months ago then 2024 could they could have had half a chance to have sorted it with stadium owners it really does look like the sale has been block deliberately from where I’m sitting .

So is 2024 completely written off then?...I am appalled with Buster Chapmans antics over the course of this season and how he has let this happen..I still feel in different hands things could have been different.

Only the champions are allowed to do that

I guess a picture Laurence has put in Facebook with Nigel and Mrs Tolley and Peter Mole in Tenerife, should be considered mildly positive news

So long as the team is competitive, free of druggies and fixtures are completed within a reasonable time frame, I think most Lions supporters would settle for that

Someone who loves speedway. Manchester is a great city and there are many things to do in a variety of guises on its doorstep too. It’s not as if people are being asked to spend a week in Sittingbourne.

It’s unsustainable. Oxford have obviously done well on their return to the sport but sadly the answer to everything these days seems to be over exposure, as they’ll find if they do decide to run three leagues. People would have to pick and choose their meetings and then it’s likely all three teams would run at a loss. It’s certainly not worth jeopardising an entire track just on the off chance it makes it easier for a handful of riders to reach a league that is already unsustainable.

Wasn't in a riding order, that's for Rob Lyon to sort out I like the fact that suggested teams contain very few riders who have appeared for Lynn before. A good clear out and fresh start is what's needed.

Think Glasgow have had enough of trying to arrange fixtures around rider's overseas commitments . Too many times it's Danish League , or Danish championship or various under 21 fixtures meaning we've had missing riders for our important fixtures

Classic dead cat on the table tactic. Got us all talking about Tenerife rather than the much larger failings of the BSPL.

Things should be kept as simple as possible. Convoluted rules turn most people off. None of this “if you best rider is a Sagittarius he can be your rising star but only if he eats two packets of chocolate buttons with the machine examiner before each meeting” rubbish.

The fence needed replacing during this close season anyway, it was rotten and held together by various bits and pieces. It’s important to note that AEPG instructed Buster to do this otherwise they would have employed contractors to do it and send him the bill. It’s been estimated that the removal of everything will cost £25k to £30k. Buster is most definitely not the bad guy here.

I don't think Pedersen's reputation is totally justified, others have pulled many similar moves it's just he was so high profile and Nicki bashing 'caught on'. Hans A was very hard with riding others to the fence or dive bombing (one time at Reading I recall he did it about three times, causing another to fall or seriously get in trouble), as was Gollob - remember Boycie's golden moment? The fact we're still talking about them shows how they're missed in my view. Oh and yes, Nicki's a lovely fella to talk to.
