Totally agree, even if British Speedway is very against an agreement over giving up Thursdays, if the alternative is losing multiple riders, can't see a suitable alternative. However you can be sure, the fixture list could be changed at short notice due to TV requirements or rained off meetings. Maybe allow Prem matches on Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays? At the end of the day as long as Poland pay more they can get away with it. British Speedway had the same attitude in the 70s & 80s.

Sorry to hear about your son's experience I had a great time and made friends for life. I was there 1968-70, and at that time there weren't many Brits around. It was the time of The Beatles etc. and anyone with a British accent had it made (so to speak). No speedway though!!

I guess as the owner they could do anything, but the costs must be mounting up so it really depends how deep their pockets are.

That’s what I was thinking would be easier and I think my team Poole would defo move up that’s the case which is b really happy about.

I’ve seen him racing quite regularly on the Isle of Wight and yes he’s back to full fitness. Tbh all the chat on here has proven that there is hardly anyone available on the right average so I’d give him a chance and then swap Covatti back in if it doesn’t work out

I suppose England will ride on Monday's and Wednesday's in 2025. Will only lose a couple of Danish riders then as nobody else would chose Denmark over Britain.

The only medal the Brummies will win whilst LR has a big say is made out of wood .

Swindon Council lead Jim Robbins has previously stated he will not support a change of use. Let's see if he backs his words up!

Maybe Robert Lambert could be signed on a 28 day contract, he might be up for doing a few meetings for the Brummies To seal the deal throw in a medal at the end of the contract and you should have got your man.

It would appear not. The hope is always that every team is competitive so people turn up to watch and don't get demoralised but even though Brum have a very good bottom four I fear for them.

Have to agree with Brian Burford article in SS .These British Riders Chamionships should left as what they were, and not be upgraded. No denying how great the riders were but is was not billed as aWorld Chamionship.History books should not be altered.

Good grief ... do you think that Rogers went tp Poland and maimed him?

Hmmmmm was it really any better though? Not sure myself, probably seemed it as stadiums were packed full with great atmospheres but the actual action was no better IMO.

Spot on I put the blame totally at their doorstep. They continued to allow Osborne to sell off parcels of land over the years without any sign of a new stadium and never once put the required constraints to achieve that.

Best news in ages....Even if by a miracle Tr and Clark had got a track outside Swindon who would go anyhow..First of all its not Swindon and second who would want to give them two a penny..Hopefully now someone else can take up the fight to find a new home inside.Swindon .

One thing that bben lacking in Swindon is some coordinated group etc who will give us a voice..As you say its just been to easy for him not just by the fans but by the local media.
  23. 1 point
And when you get met with almost zero coordinated, organised protests, then "fair play" to Osbourne as he can take it that... 1. Hardly anyone from the fanbase cares... And. 2. (And possibly most important of alll) the promoters of Swindon and the wider BSP, seem to let him happily do what he wants.... Can't blame him to be honest...

It won’t get rebuilt, the owners should go to prison as they have done this before in Leicester, there will be a bankruptcy somewhere along the line and it won’t get rebuilt

Are you talking about World Finals, or just World Champions? Seeing that you mention Hancock, I would think the latter. Well, the first one that sprang to mind was Tomasz Gollob. He was 39 years and 5 months old when he won in 2010 Tommy Price was 37 years, 9 months and 20 days old (1949) Egon Muller was 34 years, 9 months, and 9 days old (1983). Sam Ermolenko was 32 years, 9 months, and 6 days old (1993). Jason Doyle was 32 years and 22 days old (2017). Anders Michanek was 31 years, 3 months, and 7 days old (1974) Artem Laguta was 31 years and 19 days old (2021). Jack Milne was 30 years, 2 months, and 29 days old (1937). These are the only riders who won their first titles in their 30's.
