Just wanted to throw my two penn'orth out there after last night's meeting at Scunthorpe. Honestly, forget the score line for a moment, some of that racing was absolutely brilliant. Pure, unadulterated speedway action. The track, I thought, really came into its own after the first few heats. It offered up some fantastic lines and close battles. I admit, at the interval, I was wondering why they'd put some water down, but credit where it's due β it really didn't impact the quality of racing in the latter half. Having moved to Lincolnshire early this year, King's Lynn is technically my closest track, but I've made it to every Scunthorpe home meeting in 2025, and I've enjoyed every single one for the sheer racing spectacle. While my heart will always belong to Coventry if they ever get back on track (fingers crossed!), for now, I consider myself a solid Scunny fan. And honestly, it's a real disappointment that there's only one home meeting left this year! You've got to admire Rob and his team there. They clearly operate within a budget, but they manage to put on a really enjoyable night of speedway. There's a proper grassroots feel to it β good banter between the fans and the announcers, and it just feels like a genuinely honest, friendly, and affordable place to spend an evening. I think that's something to be proud of regardless of what might happen with results. Of course, it's not perfect β the social media output, advertising, and website could all do with a boost, and sometimes hearing the announcers can be a challenge, Oh, and they could definitely do with some merchandise being sold! β but when it comes down to what happens on the shale, Scunthorpe consistently delivers some excellent racing. Went to King's Lynn once this year, and that was quite enough for me! One more home meeting to go, I'd like to watch them away as I used to go everywhere with the Bees....maybe next year.7 points

They have specialist machines to deal with the wet conditions according to kelvin, 5 mins later a few men with some brushes take to the track π6 points

Another disappointing night, totally outgated, didn't seem a big crowd, special mention to Sam Masters heat 13 was an awesome ride from him, but the best thing of the night was seeing Ricky Ashworth3 points

Havelock and Muller were 9.00 men in a very strong league. If Kurtz had been around then he'd have barely been a 4.00 in the second division imo3 points
-
Give your head a wobble.... Without Kurtz this season would have been a write off already.... Possibly the GOAT has so far only managed three points more.... No one wins a world title without being a special talent... And that includes the likes of Szczakiel, Muller and Havelock, amongst others, who won one offs...3 points

Terrible racing and the prospect of the worst rider ever to win the world championship now a depressing possibility.3 points

Viewed the heat 15 footage of the tapes fiasco and i don't think any other club would get away with that . Definitely the refs fault for not stopping it but the start Marshall should know better to do what he did.3 points

More heβs choosing not to ride than not being able to use him, should just give him a ban for withholding his services as thatβs what heβs really doing.3 points

Someone on here this week referred to Fricke and Kurtz as modern day Adams and Crump and itβs one of the best comparisons Iβve seen on here in years. Bradyβs got that killer instinct, what a ride from gate 22 points

I don't think Cairns would take lightly (is that the correct term) to being told to "take it easy" to lower his average. Especially as he obviously went to Poole as they were the best club to help him progress in his career, right? After all look at how much effort Poole put into development league speedway π«’2 points

Regardless of who was winning or losing the deciding race, to allow anyone at all to stand inside the exclusion zone while a race continued is inexplicable. As there has been considerable photographic evidence of this (and, l presume, video coverage) the SCB will have to take action. Not regarding the end result, but because of the blatant disregard of the H&S aspect. Heads must roll.2 points

There are plenty of fans and contributors to this forum that would like nothing more than for Swindon Speedway to return, myself included, but like you and many others that have been around this whole sorry saga from the start, know deep down that it is unlikely to ever happen, and as Swindon Council have always complied fully with Osborne, then have no doubt that the Abbey is sadly history once the formalities have been completed. One thing for sure the next few months are going to be very interesting following the the process.2 points

Looking at our remaining fixtures we've got a decent chance of at least 18 points.. Leicester at home 2pts Oxford and Birmingham home and away - 4 wins 2 bonus = 10pts BV and Sheffield home - 2 wins and bonus points - 6pts Just that Suffolk lot away to deal with.. Sheffield (rather than Leicester) just might be catchable....1 point

Clearly you do need your eyes checking because we had exactly the same view then because I was a also on bend 2 & managed to watch all 4 laps of every race with no problem at all. Itβs appearing to me you are trying to find a negative from last nights meeting but to be honest . People are just laughing at you when you say you couldnβt watch the racing because of the dust you are just making yourself look a fool everyone in the stadium & watching on BSN can see there was nowhere near enough dust to impact viewing the whole track. @IainB is also the first person to criticise the club when he feels appropriate so to say he is a positive happy clapper of the club is very wide of the mark .1 point
