Yes he looks a good signing and on this form we should keep Kyle in my opinion.4 points

I watched the stream as a neutral and it looked a 50/50 to me. No malice whatsoever by either rider4 points

I’m not sure why riders don’t get their own cover anyway, I took mine out in 1994 with the CICA and still have it today because it covers you for pretty much everything except war but even with personal cover it does not let speedway off the hook to provide cover too, I see the bspl are saying the ACU covers it now, what about foreign riders who don’t ride under the ACU ?4 points

Good meeting great crowd wrong result for me but the best team on the night was Poole so no complaints from me.3 points

In the good old days when we had a functional sport with competitors. For how many years did we have the old fashioned tactical rule of using any rider when 6 points behind. I always thought it worked quite well to be honest?3 points

In Zachs defence, he wasn’t going to do championship and only did it after a bit of extra persuading after the Anders situation. Maybe the promise that they’d be much more lenient in allowing him to miss meetings, as the championship this season, is rightfully the bottom of his priorities3 points

Next Saturday there will be tears in north London. Cherries coming for the three points! 🍒2 points

Sorry Blobby, but check the updates heat 10 Frazer beat Danny King and gained a 5-12 points

Paul and Scott run a speedway academy (of sorts) and have done for a couple of years now, he did say he was team manager of grass track team so a bit of knowledge, he will obviously not be up to Ritchie standard quite yet, but then Ritchie was a cut above most managers regards rules etc. I know a lot of you will laugh at that but trust me some of the TM's haven't a clue regards the rules and you'd probably be surprised who the worst ones are.2 points

And without Zach, good move putting Edwards at 2 as well.2 points

I'd definitely get rid of tactical subs for home teams.....if you are 6 behind at home then tough luck.2 points

Basically yet another balls up by the BSPL, what a useless bunch of clowns they are, but hey never mind we have a new Track and Team so everything is on the up, or so they believe.2 points
-
Yea maybe not a spectator thing, but the flat track organiser rents the stadium for ££s but organises everything else, the running and insurance etc, so it must be a good money earner for the home promotion2 points
-
Put same rain down when I was on the night shift 20 miles south of the track, wet again when I’ve got up so right decision. Can’t imagine the track would have been in any condition to race.2 points

Wouldn’t be like Ben Barker to open his mouth without knowing what he’s talking about would it. 😁2 points

This needs some clarification by the BSPL and SCB urgently, as opposed to the usual "ignore it and it'll go away" policy. If riders are riding without proper insurance, then its a massive red flag for both promoters and riders2 points
-
This is a big failing of club streamers. Home fans go to the track to watch live while time and cost means away fans buy the stream. And add in neutrals who just tune in for a good meeting. Which means a high proportion of the viewers don't want to hear endless moans about the exclusion of the rider in red or why the rider in white was 'lucky' to win the race.2 points

So the rules change mid-competion... that really makes no sense at all... only in Speedway!2 points

I usually get there around 5.45 ( gates open 6.30) and there are usually plenty of spaces. The car park is used during the day for public parking including hospital day workers. If an overflow is needed the school next door is made available. The stadium charge £3.50 cash on entry on speedway nights. Enjoy.2 points

Under the current leadership the sport is doomed. They are running it into the ground.2 points

Because round one is league format. Only in 2 legged ties is tac sub not allowed2 points

Lawson wins. Good to see Richard not affected from last night.1 point

Is that the case, I wonder? From the context of Barker's post it seems that it might not be. Whatever, the change seems to have been poorly communicated and the fault seems to lie more with the SCB than with BSPL but ti might prove to be problematic for non-ACU licence holders.1 point

With tonight's meeting off, thanks to the Berwick Speedway YouTube channel you can enjoy the Berwick v Edinburgh match from 2022. Meeting start at 7.1 point

Ha ha ha ,,, so all your fellow Poole supporters around you thought Thomsen was at fault ... you do make me laugh sometimes . Just the referee then differed - he excluded Lawson. !!!! Certainly helped out Poole tomight in their quest to win the lot again in 2026.1 point
-
No one, and I mean no one around me thought Lawson was at fault. A rider on the outside often comes around and clamps the rider on the inside. It looked like Tobias lifted and collected them both. With the aid of a replay in slow motion it could well look different and I am not saying Lawson wasn’t hard. We all know Lawson never, ever takes prisoners. I recall one time where he said he went light on a rider because they were an inexperienced young rider who had gated in front of him. As team mates last season and next to each other in the pits all last season I doubt there was any animosity whatsoever. Just bikes that hooked up and they ploughed in.1 point

Thanks for that. It was good meeting what I saw. Young Vilads Nagel impressive . Lodz done well to get the draw with the 2-4 & 1-5 in heats 14 and 15. Wish there were more community stadiums like that available to British Speedway Clubs.1 point

Both Thomsen and Lawson piled into the third bend airfence at full speed with their bikes. Be surprised the crash footage will be available due to Tobias’ injuries. The airfence did it’s job to a certain extent, and had to be replaced.1 point

Clarification of a sort. Again though, poorly communicated and a statement that feels like it was rushed through1 point

It appears that since teams no longer have assets that riders need their own insurance as they seem to be classed as self employed. I do not know the actual facts, but in such a dangerous sport it would be hoped they are all insured in some way. Self-employed individuals are not typically insured by the hiring company. However, if you are a contractor or subcontractor, you may need to have your own insurance, especially if you are providing tools and uniforms. Employers' liability insurance is generally required for businesses with staff, including self-employed individuals, to protect against potential claims for workplace injuries. It is essential to assess the level of control and independence of the worker to determine if they are considered an employee or a bona fide subcontractor, which can affect the need for insurance. www.gov.uk+51 point

Assuming it’s back to 7:30 start. 6pm I’m sure you’d get a space, and worst case scenario you’d be directed into the school car park, I usually get there closer to 7 and have never not been able to park in the main car park or school.1 point

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_Elite_League_speedway_season Just looking back to 2003 when John Louis chucked a 16 year old Danny King straight in to Elite league action, and he averaged 5.47 in a very very tough league full of quality. Cairns didn’t even manage that at reserve in a poor standard Championship. But that doesn’t mean he won’t progress to be a world class rider. Some of the best riders of all time started their careers slowly without much fanfare, while others who were hyped to the eyeballs early doors never progressed to anything other than average journeyman. It’s almost impossible to predict. Boughen was another who was hyped to death and look what happened there. Drew Kemp also.1 point
