I would say why is the GP final being held when Berwick are at Home 🤔😂

Would it have hurt you to congratulate Berwick on their win or are you still grumpy because the Bandits defeated the Pirates on the way to the final ?

Your opinion is your opinion. Personally, he was a deserved winner and was right to show some emotion. He was never really 'in British Speedway' he had to go to Germany as a kid to start his professional career as he was already too good for the level that he could ride at over here then completed his apprenticeship before moving onto the big stage - where he's made a life and his growing family are. Every man and his dog knows you have to be in Poland full time to get near that top 15, he's got there and done a very good job getting there. He may not ride in our Micky mouse leagues but he puts that Union Jack on every year an rides his balls off in the world team events..or would you prefer the nice guy Harris who's made a mockery of the Uk system for the last 20 years trailing around at the back? And if I was top of the tree and they played that nonsense I wouldn't have sung either.

As it stands at the moment to go from the nss to Foxhall for a grand prix is massively disappointing. Going from one of the best and most consistent track in Britain to one of the worst shouldn't have anyone cheering bar those who live a few miles from Foxhall. But thats as it stands now. Coleman knows the score and I'd expect one of his big plans is to improve the track- theres a decent little interview on Karlito youtube channel where he does press on the point that good racing is the priority to getting people through the door. There's been an awful lot of backlash on Coleman for this, but personally from everything ive heard from the guy, the ideas he's got and some of the stuff hes already implemented in a short time at Ipswich I really do think the rest of British speedway and other promoters need to start listening and taking note before it's too late

Comfortably 2,000 imo, probably 2.5, although kids go free of which there is always a lot at Shielfield. No words re last night, great set of fans Plymouth have too, brilliant. Shielfield was electric all night, from the second Morris got announced for 27, to the riders going round on the victory parade, if speedway was like that every week, there would be no problems across the sport.

And the rest, mate! The main stand holds over a thousand and was very nearly full. And folk all around the terraces. A superb turn-out, from a town with a population of about 12,000.....

What is most disappointing from my POV is that he's immediately invited back into the sport, when any self respecting employer would , knowing Garrity's history give the guy a very wide berth.

Incredible from Lambert, he's barely had a bad ride in the second half of the season. Showed no signs of nerves at all, a good 2nd off a tough gate to start and then flawless for the rest of the night. Fair play to Zmarzlik being straight there to congratulate him. A mention for Kurtz too, must be disappointing to miss out again but I'm sure he'll be in contention again next year and he now has a brilliant opportunity to do it in front of a home crowd.

A really huge crowd tonight -- FIM events apart, surely the biggest since coming back to Shielfield Park? Full marks to the promotion for marketing their product so well

This is the thing so many people fail to realise. They are also expecting their first child so the idea that he'll ditch Sweden for the UK next year is probably wide of the mark.

2 hours to Manchester on poor roads and limited car parking available, or 3 hours to Ipswich on motorways and dual carriageways and a massive car park. Yes it might take a while to get out of the car park post meeting, but I know which journey home I would prefer at night. Added bonus is it won't be full of Aces fans. 😉

If you wanted to make money through corruption speedway is one of the last places you would rock up I would imagine Richard like most promoters is very much underwater on his investment currently.

Purely to attract/enable certain grants Never anything official from the Speedway hierarchy That said a development of that kind should've been the sort of project a significant proportion of the TV money previously garnered was put towards

I know people will say Ipswich is a small track but I can remind you that way back in the early 90s Arena Essex was being mentioned about hosting a Grand Prix, the track was given FIM status at one point (might have been 94) and there was plans to improve the stadium accordingly and then Hackney became a thing and the late Terry Russell went for that option instead, with the newly named London Stadium host a GP round in 1995. Its a shame for Belle Vue because IT IS the best track in the country, What i would have liked to have seen is two rounds back to back on the Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday, one in Manchester and the other in Ipswich, thus giving equal opportunity for fans in both the North and South to see a GP round.

Think I am in the minority regarding Mario. If he is at Ashfield every other week he will do very well(2H 2A is a must). I’d have a punt on him next year. If you start the year with Mario and a Vinnie Foord type at reserve you’ll do ok.

Ipswich need to be commended for getting this as we at Belle Vue know only too well the hoops you need to jump through and concessions that need to be made. Also negotiations at this level aren’t easy so it’s fair play to the Ipswich promotion for getting the GP circus on board. No mean feat.

Dan as had 2 bad smashes in his career involving his legs, would imagine both could have potentially halted his career. So he comes back for the last 2 GPS.....where racing is at the very top level, probably just to test his level of fitness, plus get his mind-set focused onto what speed is needed. Good stepping stones, he used good judgement. I'm pretty certain last thing on his mind was to win a GP this year in these 2 meetings. I reckon he will be well pleaded getting a LCQ spot. Next year, if Dan wants to be world champ, what he has to do is what Lambert has done this year.....grab the challenge and take his skills to a higher level. Robert did some very daring moves in these last half dozen GPs....very similar to what Zmarzlik has been doing over his winnings career. That's where Dan has to go, into opportunities and open them up. Puts the wind up me just thinking how brave these top level riders are, but I'm not the one who wants to be world champ, and only one of them per year can be. I hope Dan does it.

Motorways and Dual Carriageways?... You been to Ipswich from the North of the country? And it won't be 3 hours when you get stuck behind Farmer Palmer in his tractor on the "dual carriageway", or sat there stopped, for a herd of 100 cows to cross over the "dual carriageway" as their grazing field is on the opposite side to the milking barn.. I remember when Manchester got the GP's and all the negative comments about the lack of bars, restaurants and hotels when compared to Cardiff... I presume Ipswich must be very similar to Cardiff given I haven't read anything negative about it yet... Is the track in the city centre like Cardiff, or just 5 mine outside like the NSS is?.. Or will the "dual carriageways" be busy..?..

I feel vindicated now - when he rode for Newcastle at Sheffield in about 2015 or 16 - he rode well but failed to beat Garrity who scored a max that night how there careers have diverged! I don’t think the locals i spoke with agreed with me that Lambert would be the better! congrats anyway - a British WC has to be celebrated - sadly both our last two haven’t always been entirely 💯 committed to the UK scene which maybe has a message for us all!

I’ll admit I haven’t seen anything from there myself, but all the reports I read suggest it’s far from boring. They seem to get some good racing there generally.

I don’t care about your ‘golden boy’ comment. I’d rather see anyone else win that trophy than someone who turned his back on British speedway yet comes running back for the British final and thinks he is “British champion”. Guy doesn’t even live or ride over here. He struggled to even muster the national anthem first time around, probably still singing the Polish one from last time he sang theirs. Bewley will always be the best British rider in my opinion. If he didn’t get injured I honestly don’t think lambert would have got near him. Lamberts a good rider, just a sh!t person.

Really surprised at the anti Hausl nonsense on here. Kid has been absolutely battered in several opening heats, which does zero for confidence etc. I'd fully expect him back along with KJP next season. We have to stop binning riders every season and build a solid team. I'd hazard a guess at Bomber, Mario, Anders Rowe, KJP, Dan T, Grmek and Hodder as our team in 27. Just under 38 with Brit reduction. Likely KJP and Mario will benefit the side having another season. KJP looks like he could push on, IMHO. Scunny away did the tie in, we looked hopeless in the latter stages of that as the home side ran amok.

They need to sort the track out by a huge margin from where it currently is... Emil and Doyle could pass riders around there, but, no disrespect, they, in the main, passed riders not of GP level... I have seen Dan B try and pass both of them around Foxhall and get nowhere near given the, usual, one line available... I have also seen Brady, who doesn't like the track, beat both just by riding one line at speed... Ride fast down the short straight on a rocket ship, lock up sideways mid track, meaning not much room either side, put wheels in line, fire off down short straight, then rinse and repeat.. Chris Louis was inspired by what he saw at the NSS re the entry and exit widths, and circumference size of the bends, and he changed the track dimensions at Foxhall off the back of it.. But he couldn't go "all in", which hopefully Richard Coleman can and will do... What's under the circuit can be the biggest challenge and cost to move... Hopefully it will deliver great racing, providing several different lines, which can only be good for Ipswich and not just the GP's..

I value this opinion massively from yourself given your knowledge on tracks not being fit for purpose. Ipswich getting an upgrade leaves Poole with the lowest quality of racing in British speedway and arguably world speedway.

People spontaneously combusting on here and social media that Coleman has “taken an GP away from Belle Vue and given it to Ipswich instead” are not surprisingly way off yet again. He very much wants the GP at the NSS but there are issues that he’s trying hard to resolve. Everyone is in full agreement that Belle Vue holds the best possible racing. In an ideal world and this is just my opinion, they would have one GP at the NSS every year as standard, and then move the other around different parts of the country for variety and giving supporters from different parts of the UK a chance to go and see a GP without major travelling. Win win.

The centre green is being lowered by 600mm with new drainage and the inside of the track lowered by the same amount to give much better banking. obviously the majority of the track will be removed to allow for a much lower sub base and then a new shale surface will go in replacing the awful clay surface. spedeworth are demolishing the existing home straight stand and replacing it with a three tier building right up to the first bend. At a cost of £1.75 million. There will be a tunnel through the stand to enter the track. new pits area as current ones will be in the way of the new lengthened stand. But like you say minimal track changes. 😆

Apart from racing wise it’s a good call on every other level from fans POV and financial point of view, yes the track needs something to improve the racing but rough or not if your the best in the world you should be able to ride it
