https://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/news/people/peterborough-city-council-urged-to-rethink-decisions-for-1500-homes-and-leisure-development-of-showground-5217002 AI Generated content. Check important info as it can make mistakes: **What does a “pre-action protocol letter” mean?** The article mentions that solicitors for Forever Panthers have submitted a *pre-action protocol letter* to the council — and that’s actually quite a big deal. It’s the formal legal warning shot before taking a council to court through judicial review. It doesn’t mean the case has started yet, but it puts Peterborough City Council on notice that their decision (likely the approval of the 650-home plan or the way the call-in was handled) may be unlawful. The letter gives the council a short window — usually two weeks — to respond, explain themselves, or fix the problem. If not, the group can then ask the High Court to intervene. It’s about whether the decision-making process was legal and fair, not just whether the outcome was unpopular. In short: the legal wheels are turning now, and the pressure is officially on.13 points

When are the King's Lynn fans really going to question this club?? We cannot keep blaming Poland. Baggy has said Cook is fully committed to British Speedway. Yes, until he came to King's Lynn. Musielak - never let British Speedway down, yep, until he came to King's Lynn. In 2023 - Pickering did the same, never let anyone down until he came here. Laguta & Tarasenko too, couldn't wait to get out. Year after year after year somebody can't be a$$ed to come back. Which other Premiership teams suffers with this every single season?? The most common denominator is this club, not Poland.9 points

I love how the immediate reaction of some Poole fans after a loss is to want riders to be sacked. Was exactly the same after the home loss to Oxford earlier in the season. Such a bunch of bad losers, with no real love for those that ride for them.8 points

Entirely my own decision is what my polish club has made me say !!!!6 points

I believe that NASA forecast a 0.000000003% chance of a meteor strike on Norfolk for Monday, if that isn't a good reason to call off Monday's match, then I don't know what is.5 points

Did cairns do a lap of the track on foot high fives with the fans. .5 points

And they'll know that however they perform will always get the full support of the fans----oh hang on!!4 points

It's certainly possible, Starke riding at 6 & Foord riding at 7, makes that easier to happen. I notice that Starke's home / away split is level 4.00/4.00, whereas Foord is much stronger at home 5.56 / 2.50, with Foord having more away matches left to race than home. I would've been happy keeping Foord if I was a Pirates fan, but also feel Starke has done his job & doesn't deserve the criticism he gets. He was signed on a 3.5 average, why do people keep saying "he wasn't the rider he once was" of course he isn't, if he was the rider he once was, he wouldn't have been available on such a low average & the team would've been above the limit!4 points

Pity the meeting started at Heat 1 do you get anything winning from Heat 5 ?.4 points

The sport is riddled with guestfest, after guestfest anyway... So, just run the guestfest on the best night for the home team to deliver their best crowd... Just 100 extra could be a major difference given the pi$$ poor numbers at most tracks... Home promoters are happy now for an away team to turn up with four guests and a RR facility.... So, deliver such nonsense on the best night you can to deliver your best crowd.. The happy clappers who still take it seriously (even when they only have two riders from their own team out on track), will definitely be there anyway... And, those many hundreds at each track who don't take it too seriously, but just like watching the racing, will go more often if not tied down to race nights that they cannot attend..4 points

Many won't have sympathy for Ben, and I understand that completely, but I do, Polish and UK tracks are chalk and cheese and its not as if he hasn't tried to ride here, although whether he ever had any intention of racing at Lynn is another matter. He has always been committed to his British clubs and I know his wrist is much worse than many realise. I suspect Lezno have been in his ear and I understand it looks bad when he races over there and not here. I wouldn't criticise anyone for hammering him but I wont be doing that.3 points

Belle Vue are so strong at home even the reserves are scoring points and it’s that home form that keeps them up at the top3 points

There`s a joke in there somewhere about Barrie being a great tosser, but I will leave that to others.3 points

IMO the crowd was up on previous attendances, a few pilots fans made the long journey, thanks for travelling, also some Glasgow fans made the trip down, as they said we're starved of speedway and travelled down to watch some live action, they prefer not to go to armadump, also would think several Poole fans would have bought the stream, all money for the club3 points
-
Strange bunch some Poole fans … everytime they get beat they are asking for riders to get sacked that’s crazy as they hardly lose!!! Sometimes you will have bad days that’s sport but why don’t the fans support the riders?? I think Shovlar thinks Starke should be getting 7 or 8 a meeting …. He won’t his average dictates he won’t3 points

Unexpected win today against the league leaders. Thought 44-46 but was delighted to be wrong. Some cracking close races with every point being scrapped for, which is how it should be. It takes two teams to make an entertaining meeting and Poole played their part so thank you. It was the Comets fantastic start that ultimately proved too much to overcome on this occasion which was nice after being put to the sword at home twice last season by the Pirates. Congrats to the mechanics, not one mechanical failure during the meeting. Thank you to members of the wider Speedway fraternity who turned up to show their support for the Comets, it was much appreciated. Let's hope we can get the message to more local people to give it a go while trying to improve the quality of entertainment on offer during the 2hours or so of the meeting. It was great to see the riders coming round today almost without exception when winning races. Congrats to the Comets on a solid team performance without exception- brill ! That performance was just reward for Andrew Bain who has had a tumultuous couple of weeks, thank you.3 points

Cook, ban him, revoke his visa too, kick him out the country, we don’t need tossers like that taking the pee out of British fans, sick to death of riders thinking they are bigger than the sport2 points

Reading his statement it sounds like Cook has binned Lynn.2 points

Resting? No need to over do it when the result is in the bag. A good meeting and thank you to both sets of riders for putting on a great show and entertaining the poor relations in the UK who can only dream of stadia and crowds likes those tonight.2 points

Get them on the technical tracks though... That's where all the best Speedway is to be found isn't it? Says so on here.... I'd like to see Bartek ride like he does in Poland on a cold October Tuesday night at Plymouth.... Wibble. Wibble....2 points
-
He’ll get a ban yes and it will be well deserved2 points

Another rider taking the urine out of British speedway, thankfully the tracks in Poland aren't so technically demanding meaning he will still to be able to bring in a wage. Hopefully Kings Lynn will have nothing to do with this rider.2 points
-
So... How is that not "withholding services"? I presume he has been banned?2 points
-
That is one fabulous atmosphere with a packed stadia. What more could you want as a fan and for the riders it must be terrific.2 points
-
It doesn’t. Lawson, Harris, Kvech and Klindt is more than sufficient to cover Iversen. You could argue is strengthens them looking at the form or Iversen and his replacements. The Cook situation is an issue for them though. Lambert hasn’t been riding well so that’s definitely a weak link for them.2 points

What a ridiculous answer, are you saying that because the Promotion don't base their team / new signings on a forum users ideas that there's no point of having an opinon? If that was the case, each topic would be two pages long!2 points

You realise you’re watching a Workington club stream, so shock horror it probably is a little balanced towards the team who own it 😂 I get accused of being anti Poole by Poole fans, and Poole biased by away fans, and in reality I’ve covered more Poole meetings than any other club including all bar one cup final where I think you’d have a hard job saying I was anti Poole. I’ve also been issued with a Bailie House survivors T shirt by Middlo. Now when BSN do the fixture against Redcar, well maybe that will be harder 😂2 points

I see you 👀 playing it down now are we 😛 Have to watch this Belle Vue lot ya-know, working the 'Matt Ford Handbook' this lot 😬2 points

By the very mark of you saying that there should be speculation and Zager is a silly Option is making suggestions….so why bother ? Also 6 posts in the past hour or so suggests otherwise 😂2 points

In anticipation of the planning application, local residents have contacted their parish council, expressing their opposition to any proposed plans due potential noise and traffic concerns. The site is situated adjacent to the main London to Bristol rail line and in close proximity to junction 17 of the M4. The sole residential accommodation in the vicinity is the local traveller site, with the nearest housing development being a couple miles away. You couldn’t make it up! This is the just of the article Residents on the outskirts of Swindon have been left divided by plans for a new Speedway stadium. Swindon Motorsports hopes to build a new home for the Robins, with a capacity of up to 3,000, at Studley Grange just a few miles from junction 16 of the M4. If Wiltshire Council gives the green light, a motorsports park with a speedway track and karting track could be built. At the time of writing, a planning application had not been submitted but was expected soon. The proposal is expected to be discussed during the public question time of the Lydiard Tregoze Parish Council meeting at Hook Village Hall on Monday, July 14. A note in the meeting’s agenda revealed the parish council has already been emailed by concerned residents seeking its support in objecting to the application once it is submitted. Some fear the scheme would create noise and traffic issues when combined with other nearby housing and commercial developments Posting in the Swindon Needs Speedway group ahead of the meeting, Andy Freegard urged locals to attend, whether they support or oppose the development. He said: “Although several local businesses have already raised objections, the council has decided that the potential noise impact is acceptable and is moving forward with the application. “Many of you will remember how far the noise from the old Blunsdon Speedway used to travel — this new site is much closer. “While some people might support the return of speedway, many will be concerned about noise pollution and disruption to daily life. “If you object to this proposal, it’s very important you attend the meeting and make your voice heard. “If you support the proposal, you are also encouraged to attend and share your view.”2 points

I usually stand at bend 1 but didn't fancy being cooked yesterday so also stood in the shade at bend 3, probably a few others had the same idea by the looks of it. I was expecting a better attendance but I daresay a few people with or without families would have already have decided to take advantage of the rare warm weather and took day trips to the coast, lakes etc or were just sitting out with drinks in their garden. Let's see if this winning result against Poole encourages a few more next time.2 points

When Chapman called off a meeting against Ipswich with one of the most pathetic excuses you’ll ever see because a couple of his riders were on Danish duty, then you can fully understand the suspicion. That was the pinnacle of many many stunts this man has pulled over the years. The “heart attack” was another corker.2 points

If you want to be pedantic tellboy, ONE person said may have tweaked his shoulder, but it was in response to YOU putting the doubt out there because he didn’t take his last ride, and Bald Bloke doubting the proposed line up is correct so there’s more than one of you fanning the doubting flames. The fact only Birmingham aren’t riding and guests will be hard to come by makes me suspicious Buster is trying to cook something up. Look, I enjoy my visits to Lynn and despite the stick the racing gets these days, I always find even the most ordinary meetings there mildly entertaining. There’s three of us travelling up tomorrow but the fact I won’t be confident the meeting will actually take place until late afternoon despite there being no threat of rain, speaks volumes! Let’s all hope the concerns are for nothing, and the meeting takes place with the proposed line ups.2 points
-
I’m always nervous that a Lynn fixture is going to be called off when I’m making plans to attend. You lot are making it worse by saying one of your important riders “tweaked” his shoulder. Looks like Buster can’t find a forecast with a drop of rain in it this time, so maybe the Moles have dug up the track?2 points

Lawson t/r. Pirates just not at the races. Wondering if the long haul up in the heat has had an effect but shouldn’t be an excuse. Workington on another level so far.2 points

Why don’t King’s Lynn be open and honest with their fans and just say he has a 28 day ban (coincides with mid August return) rather than spouting nonsense about tracks and surfaces.1 point

Really, you have obviously not seen him in the previous two seasons. He finished last year on 9.14, with only Kurtz-9.18 and Doyle-9.36 having higher averages. That I put it to you, with the third highest avg in the league last year, he was already and out and out No 1.1 point
