Sadly, these kind of meetings show how little the competitions mean in the eyes of the promoters... Why run such meetings knowing FIM meetings are taking place? By definition the riders missing will be the "better ones" too.... If an independent body existed then this meeting wouldn't have happened or RR would have been the only facility... If the riders qualify then there will be even more clashes .. The UK has to stop "making up Speedway" as it does it no favours... There will be, I am sure, promoters out there wondering again how the local ice hockey team can get double their crowds.. And a if a track needs to bring in an overseas rider due to not having enough UK riders of the required level, then that is squarely down to their lack of focus on UK rider development over the past few decades... The vicious circle will continue unless UK rider development becomes the No1 priority for tier two in particular.... You need fans to take the sport seriously if you want it to be successful... I presume those who run it as a hobby don't feel the need to run it that way...5 points

More passes in the first seven heats tonight than in the whole of last season at Wimborne Road.4 points

We need more races like this! (It's insane to go and try and punch someone who has a crash helmet on however1)4 points

Great race and great confrontation! Didn't see a huge amount wrong with Howarth's move, it was hard but didn't look dirty from that angle.4 points

Problem is after the issues all winter with trying to cobble together a top league Belle Vue have had poor early crowd numbers and that's with having two of the most exciting riders on the planet and one of the best tracks in the country. Hopefully we will have some big news from Harry soon with maybe Linda cutting the tape at the KO cup final.3 points
-
I think the Foxes can be satisfied with their start, two decent scores away from home and several riders performing above the expectations of many.3 points

Can see Ipswich struggling this year . Not that it matters in the sport these days. Packed their team with average riders , decent scorers if it’s their day . Would find it hard to be entertained by them. No big hitters. As it’s about entertainment at the end of the day, hats off to Lemon. Kurtz and Bewley as two of the most exciting raiders in the world provide that home and away. The Aces fans are thankful for that . Other clubs and their supporters should be too . Never mind what the rest of Belle Vue team is like. These two more than make up for anything else . Who cares who wins the honours?? Just enjoying the racing is what matters imo3 points

Hagon was decent value. King was the difference tonight, he hasnt ridden Ashfield that well in years. I'd suggest our KOC ends tomorrow.2 points

Good to see Danny King riding well. Showing all his experience. Also rode well at BV on Monday.2 points

Older sounding guy on the stream is woeful, doesn’t seem to know what’s going on or who exactly Glasgow is racing, Plymouth Devils apparently and he keeps talking over the other guy. Thoroughly enjoying the racing though. Might watch a few heats on mute to see if that improves things.2 points

Can't agree with that mate unfortunately it's British speedway that's mick mouse.2 points

Ref clearly a Lublin fan, nothing wrong with first start and zmarzlik’s twitches and gets pawlicki’s to jump2 points

Wait till summer comes then the various Mickey mouse FIM U19 U24 and other events are planned most weekends2 points

Funny how he’s laid claim on Brennan being an “Ace” and wants his club to take credit for him, or any other rider that has ridden for them, developing well 🙄 If anyone can legitimately take credit for that it’s Eastbourne.2 points

I think the current new version of the App basically wont work on a Smart TV as the old version had for the last few yrs as the Web browsers on the TVs cant run with the new version or summit, basically their messed it up for the people who used to watch it thru their Web browser on a smart tv, like been said they should of left it as it was if it was gonna cause this much bother for people, or at least role it out when it was fit for purpose and suited everyone however they preferred to watch it, some people may prefer to cast/mirror it from a phone/tablet or hdmi it via a laptop or whatever, but for the older generation its beyond them especially my parents anyway, it was pretty much hassle free the last few seasons since BSN started viewing it via the web browser on a smart tv, so much for progress😐2 points

If Plymouth didn't sign him they would have still got a facility for tobias thomsen so no idea why it doesn't sit right with you makes no sense.2 points

That incident was awful to see .Dugard had all the time in the world to calm down during the long walk back to the pits. A genuine case of "like father like son"2 points

That's what makes it okay though... something like Mr Dugards attack of Stefan Anderson though, all those years ago, was not pretty to watch!2 points

Well done the Bears , my prediction was wrong with the Monarchs suffering with Paco’s withdrawal. Only have to look at the bottom end to see the reason for the overall result. Klindt still frustrates me but Pijper and Scott are really coming good. Monarchs need to find a scoring reserve.1 point

I have no problem with either. Kyle has done a great job considering he didn’t ride last season and if the choice is for Dan to come in, Kyle will no doubt be picked up by another Championship club.1 point

That may be but it was good to see him there nonetheless. Andrew Chisholm has been assigned as general manager and in charge of day to day running so he doesn’t need to be there himself. If anything, he may have been a little TOO hands on! Seemed from the footage he was picking the riders for heat 15! Pretty sure that’s the managers job! They may have already been selected though and he was just giving the two a word of encouragement.1 point

That's a good point & given me something to think about. I guess because Flint has ridden every Glasgow match this season that doesn't bother me, but a rider appears once, doesn't score a point & now Plymouth get a facility, doesn't sit right with me. However, it would seem odd if Glasgow got a facility & Plymouth didn't with riders racing in the same event!1 point

I get what you are saying but I think we need to avoid criticising riders who start these fisticuffs, and I'd certainly never accuse anyone who rides a speedway bike of being a pussy, if anything I am as I had one go once and never will again 😂 We need more of this stuff.1 point

Interesting that the British Speedway website has posted pictures and the video of it. Usually they just give it a brief mention in the report and move on. If that's a deliberate choice to try and publicise these incidents more then I think it's a good decision.1 point

1st SWC Semi-final in Landshut is a week away on Friday 1st May start time 6pm UK time. I have searched TNT Sports and cannot find it listed and HBO Max don’t appear to have a proper daily schedule( that i can find). Can someone else have a look ? Edit via TNT sports i have now found it listed on HBO Max only. With GB riding in the meeting and TNT having 4 channels i find it amazing that it’s only on HBO Max1 point

With new ownership and a good start this seems like a seamless transition from last year. Interesting that many have written us off before the season has started. However, make no mistake this team is solid and barring injuries that can happen I think this will be a solid season and I think the owners should take a lot of credit for the seamless transition and professionalism that has continued.1 point

Track was much better tonight, no dust and no bumps. Northampton ride like underdogs with no pressure and justified it being so close. I was particularly impressed with Thomson, not afraid to use the outside and deserved his point in ht15.1 point

Can I pass on my best wishes to Connor Coles and his family, hoping for a speedy recovery. We all know Speedway is a dangerous sport ,and 9 times out of 10 a rider will get back up, but there are occasions when they are badly injured, and this is when the Speedway family bands together and hope Connor gets through this injury.1 point

I heard an advert on Greatest Hits Radio that covers Northants,Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire last week for Northampton Foxes and there has been a couple of mentions on the news as well. I would imagine that they may up the output more once they know they are open and any gremlins are sorted out so on opening night will just be happy to Speedway fans in and then will target others which may work as Football season will be finished and Rugby Union not far behind1 point

Sounds shocking, I saw last weeks match and accepted it was down to the forecast but no excuse this week, I’m no track curator but next year will be my 40th of watching speedway and know on dry windy days you have to be on the track at the crack of dawn getting water into it and carrying that throughout the day, it’s not acceptable to have conditions like that every week, will the ref be mentioning it in his report? Will Phil Morris act on it?1 point

Neither Awful track. Plumes of dust on parade and a blue groove by heat 4. It’s April not August with 90 degree temperatures. Some good racing nonetheless but on a properly prepared track it could be so much better.1 point
