  1. Good luck with that. Finding someone in the crowd under 23 πŸ˜…

  2. That's good to know. Just another 95,000, and whitelinehugger will have to retire too.

  3. And quite rightly so, possibly the worst post ever made on this forum that sinks to new lows almost daily... congratulations πŸ‘

  4. Expecting a battling and thrilling meeting on a superbly prepared water saturated track against our rivals for the title. Glasgow come as one of the favourites for winning the championship and are stacked with quality riders. Harris loves the wide open spaces of Wimborne Road and as always is a real threat. Howarth is always very quick. Hagon is a top youngster and had a year at Poole. Smith has done many laps around here and Harrison is a battler. Flint can score a few. And then I woke up. 57-33. Dust from heat 3 regardless of track prep. 35c tomorrow.

  5. They do NOT take risks for our entertainment. They have a job to do, which is racing motorcycles. Which is dangerous. The better they do, the more they get paid, and therefore, they take risks. It has nothing to do with entertaining us.

  6. I'm actually really happy we have a team. In reality we were never going to Emil and Jason in the same team. It's still a competitive team in my eyes and we've won 5 out of 7. I accept that we should not accept mediocrity, and certainly in the early 2000s we had some poor sides at Ipswich. However, the sport must come first and we go back to basics. The sports current administrators are playing the violins on the deck as the water level is rising and it simply cannot continue. When some of my fellow Ipswich supporters moan, just think of those who no longer have a team or track.

  7. I think it was Dean who summed everything up perfectly a few weeks back... "It just feels like everyone is just going through the motions"... Hence we have the same old, same old, each season, without any desire to change anything for the better.. It seems some Ipswich fans have gone from the joy of victory, to apathy in just a few short months.. Not great for a sport to engender such feelings is it?

  8. Nope. If 100,000 people say it online, he has retire. He has no choice.

  9. some of the posts on this topic are crass and not what i thought this forum was all about, pretty sad state of affairs if I'm honest.

  10. I think you will find that "someone" will be on here soon explaining why Poole are very much the underdogs...

  11. Yep he's probably England's best ever rider but i'm another who wish he would give it up and move onto something new he's no longer the force he was which is to be expected , but these riders have incredible grit as Woffy shows. Chris Holder is another example should have probably had 2-3 world titles but two terrible crashes and what happened to Darcy pulled him back from the absolute top level. and like Tai in the UK he can be 60% of the rider he was at his best and still beat 90% of the opposition in his sleep.

  12. Do you really think this is the place to post such things ? Yes I'm aware of a post on social media, but surely that's up to Craig and Facebook, not you putting it out on here πŸ€”

  13. Brennan has been dropped from the match day team but still in the squad as they have too many β€œplayers”, similar thing happened at Rybnik last year. Brennan is getting Β£2,000 a match to be sidelined though!

  14. It’s also probably just the sport in general now. Belle Vue having 3 guests the other day. It’s farcical. It just feels like everyone is biding time now.

  15. How is having diagnosed conditions self inflicted? Honestly the older generation on here are nothing but ….. I’ll leave you to fill in the blank but people like you are part of the problem as to why there is such a mental health crisis today. Cookie has his struggles and he has opened up on these in the past. But yet there’s still people like you who come with the old wise crack β€œ never existed in my day.” Well sorry to break it to you, times change. You unempathetic …..

  16. I'm sure he could delegate and advise. What has to be questioned is how many that left early will return.

  19. A lot usually gets lost in translation from Polish
    2 points
  20. Maybe but not intentionally anyway. The major difference even from a decade ago is an awful lot are not on their footrests, it's their flailing legs that makes them look busy on the bike. Many argue they can react better to direction change off the footrest & it's easier to get off the machine if it lifts. As been mentioned before, a lower Horse Power, lower RPM, increased Torque would see riders more controlled & back on their footrests. The issue for me (especially in Poland) is that Zmarzlik has become the Poster-Boy for that 'Wild Style' and riders of significantly lower ability think they can do the same without mastering the basics.

  21. They publish the top earners numbers usually at the end of the season.. Usually a fair few with Β£600k plus... Which is why it pees off the Poles when their riders get injured riding overseas... Riders will use their signature money at the start of the season, to build not only their Polish kit, but also their GP kit, and their kit for whichever other leagues they race in.. Also. Look at any rehab that needs doing. Invariably it is the Polish team footing the bill, regardless of where the relevant injury happened.... It is big money, big pressure, big jeopardy, big consequences over there... Just how a professional sport should be..

  22. He was in a f***ing coma ffs. The info about his injuries was coming from medical professionals, not from him over exaggerating.

  23. I went to Thursday nights meeting with my son and I would estimate the attendance at around 2,000. There were quite a few Leicester fans there but we were pleased to see a large Northampton support. The noise and enthusiasm of the home fans on gaining their first win was impressive and infectious! We were very impressed with the facilities and the general organisation at the stadium. After many years in the Speedway wilderness, I have finally found a local team that I can support. We can’t wait for the next meeting. At last, is there a chink of light for the future of our great sport🀞🀞

  24. Unfortunately British Speedway is bit like the Doctor is administering morphine to the patient but he can't get the dose right At some point he'll overload the syringe and speedway in Britain is a goner!

  25. We attended Buxton on Sunday and I think it will be a while before we return, there was fallers in every race I think which I believe was more down to the track many times not the riders. The track was like concrete with dust and stones on the top on the bends so to the riders it must have felt like sliding on marbles. It was so hard that the tractor grading it was picking up next to nothing and kicking up just as much dust as the riders during the races. I know it was a hot day so why was the track not watered well before the meeting to get it to seep into the track? The truck / bowser was ineffective to say the least, and why did the referee allow the truck to fill up with water on the centre green while the racing was going on I thought all tractors etc had to be removed back to the pits during races? We stuck it out for the 15 heats and then left and while I know its National league racing it was far from a good advert for the sport.

  28. Woffy is a very determined character and speedway is like drug to him. Whilst I agree that it’s his choice when he decides to quit but that of course is on the assumption that there are teams out there willing to take a risk on him and are prepared to offer the payment he would demand.

  33. Poole could easily get close to 60 in this one Harris last 3 meetings at Poole 16 rides and 6 wins and is out of form Howarth last 3 has had 14 rides and 1 win Flint 8 rides and 1 win Add in having Jack Smith and Luke Harrison and Glasgow are very weak Rushen and Cairns can easily hit double figures Any Poole fan expecting this to be close is deluded

  34. This needs someone who can interpret the rule book. His absence was for a family emergency which is understandable. Does the fact he was absence as a guest make any difference? A non speedway absence might mean a 7 day suspension. In which case a replacement at 75% of Kyle’s GSA of 8.28 could apply. Just my thoughts and happy to be corrected.

  47. According to the weekly averages in the speedway star Batch is on 8.10 after 8 meetings not bad for someone who many say is past it πŸ˜ƒ think he started the season at 6.80 so an increase of 1.30 is not bad for an old timer 😜

  48. Sorry that's too complicated. How about making RR available to two riders above the replaced rider and two below, rather than one above and three below
