Well I liked it, enjoyed the racing on a saturday night and most of all it was free to watch. Not the greatest meeting but it kept you entertained and some of the younger riders showed a lot of grit. This is what we need and I hope ITV4 put more events on.

I thought it was a decent evenings entertainment. Clearly not the usual broadcast team from the TNT days, more a budget broadcast team, but that’s down to ITV who were never going to throw tons of money at a one off production. However, I think British Speedway can give itself a pat on the back and consider it a job well done, rider presentations were on point, background promotional material looked fresh, the racing got better as the meeting progressed. The interviews were a bit ‘bumpy’ in places, but I don’t think it detracted from the overall presentation. More importantly there wasn’t any cock up’s!

Since it's such a love in about having the British Final on telly, I must say I thought it was a bit of a bore. 3 hours plus was well dragged out. Lambert was always going to be head and shoulders above everyone else. It was pretty much him against a bunch of Championship standard riders - some of them reserve level. Maybe if the format had been cut down to 10 riders or so (and Lambert brought along for some exhibition rides!!) it might have been better. It was probably not a good event for a live tv relaunch. Maybe should have kept that for a League Riders Championship or something. And there didn't seem be much pushing of the sport, i.e. regular (?!) league speedway across the country etc. And I didn't hear much about the bikes - 500cc / no brakes / no gears on a loose shale surface. But there was a bit of random stuff like - changing setups and changing coils. And there was just no atmosphere at all. So If I was new to the sport (as opposed to someone who started watching decades ago but gave up attending 8 or 9 years ago, even though I have a track about half an hour drive away) I don't think I would be bursting a gut to watch another one or try to find somewhere to watch it live.

This is something Nigel Pearson excelled at. Used to bang the drum for speedway and plug meetings at various tracks at every opportunity he could when he was commentating. Sadly missed.

Emma is ace. Alongside the GPs, she does work for Leeds United and also for one of the horse racing channels. Always bright, bubbly and professional. She does a mega job. I thought all in all it was a good product tonight, tv show wise. I do think a little more could have been done in commentary for anyone new to the sport but most of all… …someone should have said something along the lines of “If you are new to speedway and enjoyed this evening, there are speedway clubs around the county you can visit for the first time. Go on to the British Speedway website to find out your nearest track and head down there to experience it in the flesh.”

I guess going forward the British final should just be a match race between Lambert and Bewley. Sod all the other GB riders eh.

I suspect ITV were paid to show it, but regardless we want to get to the point where they want to show it. It may not have been the most exciting meeting, but that’s also how speedway goes sometimes, so for anyone thinking that’s an issue, I think it’s a red herring. You get boring matches in football, rugby, cricket… boring motor races, and millions watch people smack a ball slowly around a massive garden with sand dunes 😄 I think it was decent enough, although it did look like Olly Allen had been kidnapped at times.

Jesus Christ people you are watching speedway on ITV for free and they finally got a deal done and all you miserable buggers do is moan. Better turn your phones / laptops off and just watch the racing because your negativity is embarrassing somewhat. If you want to moan at speedway on ITV for the first time in 41 years go ahead, but don’t you dare moan about it not being on TV the next time around.

I know that it’s just my opinion regarding the credibility of the sport in GB.Have just watched Torun v Wroclaw where Torun had to use junior for Dudek which is how it should be.If you look at today’s result Middlesbrough using R/r for Jade Musgeway in NDl .Come on.

They don't need to ban anyone just say we will not use you if you do. He who's paying the most will usually have the final say.

Thought it was a decent advert for the sport, everyone played there part, Tatum, Allen, Emma, the riders....track was okay considering the weather we have had. Finished on time which will not of gone unnoticed by ITV. Racing wasn't to the high standard of Belle Vue but do you know what?!...I thought everything considered the sport portrayed itself very well. Fingers crossed ITV want a bit more of the sport, now wouldn't it be great if they covered part of the play offs.

It's more than that. The British Final is a clear indication that the "fast tracking" of Rising Stars isn't delivering in the Premiership. Rushen showed he could be the next to come through after Bewley & Lambert, but what else is there?? All those years of riders given Rising Star (or past equivalents) positions to have only Bewley & Lambert cut it is nothing short of failure. Could be argued that giving youngsters a job in the top league with minimal effort stop the hunger and drive to be the best they can. These kids should be hitting heatleader positions in the Championship on the regular before getting reserve spot in the Premiership. It's the only & best way to sort the wheat from the chaff.

The British Final being not as competitive is not a failure of creating riders now, it was a failure of creating riders 15 or so years ago. Charles Wright was the only rider aged between 31-39! 11/16 riders were aged under 26. Most grand prix riders are around 30. British Speedway actually has a decent future. Brennan and Flint ride in the 2nd and 3rd polish leagues regularly. Rushen and Cairns are some of the best U19 riders in the world. Maybe ITV will see the youth of the riders as a positive. Although, likely the viewing figures are the decider

Absolute joke, another rider from the semi final robbed of the chance to race in the British final because someone cant decide when they can or cant be bothered, the SCB should give him a two year ban, since he has trouble deciding when and where he wants to ride, let the decision be made for him.

Alright Gavan make sure you see a psychiatrist and get some meds you need it fella! Nutty as a fruitcake.

To be honest though part of the lack of interaction is down to demographic of the crowd. desperately need to get some young blood in to the sport!

Not a bad advert for speedway, although the racing was only average. There is quite a bit of room for improvement.... Camera work was poor I am surprised people like Emma Jones, she asks fairly dumb questions. Rory struggled at times. interviews/trophy presentation dragged on too long.

Think a lot of Redcar fans being quite harsh on your team in terms of throwing it away. You have to remember Ashfield generally creates a better home advantage in the second half of the meeting, home advantage race lines become more apparent to the Glasgow team and tried and tested bike set ups used sooner. Think credit to both teams for great night of speedway and a brilliant travelling support both in number and in voice. Another week where speedway was the winner IMHO.

Fantastic meeting... Wroclaw's obsession with riding around the outside on bends three and four was baffling... Would be a great final...

Poland won't force any rider to do anything,it will be a clause in their contract, they don't have to sign it . I believe when Damon Hill was driving f1 for Williams,Damon who was a dead keen biker had a clause forbidding him to ride motorbikes (risk of injury)

If "very entertaining" means being 5-1'd 3 times in 5 outings and failing mechanically in heat 2, then probably best to stop these votes. Hats off for heat 6 but he didn't really have to work overly hard for it. He also almost fenced Lewis Kerr more than once in heat 12. With team mates like that, who needs opponents? Anyway, very pleased with the victory. I didn't expect to win, which makes it all the better. A solid effort throughout the team. Good to see DanT top scoring (despite what the Monarchs website may say) and a big thank you to Darryl Ritchings for turning up with a bike which, unlike the Poole reserves, lasted 4 laps in each race. Excellent professionalism. You can come back any time 👍 A black mark to the Pirates management for their seemingly poor information provided to the programme printers. I had to buy a new pen and was 'writing' William Cairns r/r, Slater Lightcap and Edward Kennett in my sleep afterwards. The latter was very good value for money, which dampened the disappointment of Kyle Newman's unfortunate absence. I was also impressed with Zach Cook. Very fast and very stylish. He's never seemed overly happy on previous visits to sunny Armadale. That's definitely changed this year though. Two top notch performances. Re the Mitchell Cluff 2 minutes incident. Joe (the big screen) always shows the countdown clock before every race. For whatever reason, it wasn't showing prior to the rerun of heat 8. The yellow light came on at some point but no clock. It was also conspicuous by its absence in at least one race later on in the meeting. Can't remember which one(s) though. Finally, well done to Michele Castagna for actually racing for the full 4 laps of heat 14. However, the technical gurus will have to explain his post-match quote to me. Something along the lines of, "my engine almost went on me". Pardon my ignorance but how does that happen? Is it not a case of the engine going (blowing up) or not going (working perfectly)? He didn't appear to lose speed. There was no audible spluttering. So, in what way did the engine "almost" go? Roll on Friday...

Not sure if any of your riders , on a rider for rider basis would make the Poole team.

Catchup is now available on ITVX app. If everyone could watch at least few minutes on that, as the viewing figures are more viewable for ITV. They won’t really know who was watching on freeview etc last night.

Shame we dont ride against Workington more often, they dont have any better riders!!!

Battle for young top Pirate has heated up a notch after tonight’s British Final. Wills will not like Coops coming to his home track and getting all the plaudits, especially as he had a bit of a duff meeting. It will just make them go even harder at it, to the benefit of us fans.

If stal had Jack Holder they would be in a much stronger position than they currently are, but yes, even Gorzow were expecting a larger defeat last night but nobody can deny that stals young stars are pulling together in the best speedway league in the world.

Speedway fans are weird. So we're at a point now where clubs can't sign rider's because others can't afford it?? Absolutely bonkers mentality. It's up to everyone else to be better, not lowering standards to suit the least well off. Even if the team averages were 25 or 55, in the main, if a club has the most expenditure available, they'll have the best team. It's the way in every single motorsport. It's very very simple, if you want a competitive league, bug all the other promoters to raise their standards

Many think that. No doubt. There’s also a few who see UK speedway as an opportunity to grow something from the current mess it’s in into something, bigger and better. Lots of hurdles to clear along the way and the principal of “less is more” will need to be understood as a first step.

From what i heard he was asked to make his way to the stadium by the management so Ipswich could get him signed off and run IRR, instead he refused and turned round and went home so Ipswich had to use Freddy Hodder is his place.

I am afraid that the council are spineless. Why have they just stood back and looked at a Stadium being illegally destroyed, and watched buildings being constructed without planning permission. They should of gone and locked the gates and put up a barrier to prevent entry, until a resolution has been agreed. I imagine the Council will just relent in the end to save a further long drawn out battle.

What abuse have you seen? These individuals have destroyed a 90 year old stadium with no planning permission. Some peoples emotions are going to be highly charged. Some comments are bound to be a bit fruity and you're very naive if you think that's abuse. No council or planning inspector will take notice of any social media post. This will be decided on evidence in regards to planning laws. You're an absolute hypocrite as well. How about I come and build a padel court in your back garden with no planning permission? Far more benefits for the community. Wally.
