GeneralMelchett
Anyway back to the meeting great nights for Danny King and Drew Kemp - in fact Kemp has I reckon won Leicester the cup with his 15 tonight. He was just very good out of the starts tonight and away - It was difficult to work lines to over take. That said there was some (good) overtaking in a few heats and some decent racing and it was a close meeting and the crowd was for me the best of the three meetings I have attended. Sorry that all seems a bit positive. Tom B will benefit form being away from No 1 from - was trying hard but its not working for him right now. Three of the Witches top riders all had one dud ride / fall each which cost them. Jason Edwards took two heats to work out the track - this needs to be from heat2! Not sure if KJP is fit? Dan Thompson seems to not be progressing - I have seen him twice at Foxhall only this season but it was his former home track land I expected more from him on this occasion. Being honest take away Kemps stunning 15 pts and the witches would have probably won this 49-41 or so. Just checking everything is ok with you as you mention me in every post it’s a bit of an obsession and I’m making sure the nurses have given you your medication I’m just glad we have speedway at Foxhall and no I’ve not attended much this season as the team lacks excitement … the track is worse than ever and the presentation is appalling …. Sadly I don’t actually miss it and I’m sure there are lots of supporters not just of Ipswich but many other clubs who are finding the season as a whole a bit boring … the Sheffield fans I spoke to said the same

Six of us used to go, and we all ensured we got there as late as possible just in case any of us got given a team place!!! At at some point there must be a tipping point where we quite literally run out of participants or in this case riders.

Depending on what Poland decide... For the Championship, it could be next season... You would think the top tier are pushing for eight teams, to sell to TV, and also ensuring a fair shareout of any top talent that decide to ride over here to encourage two teams to move up.. With fixed race nights not being needed anymore to accommodate the DUers, meaning the likes of Poole and Glasgow for example, could keep their key race nights and move up... Maybe adhoc Friday or Saturdays as required for Glasgow depending on Polish commitments of any of the 14 riders?.. The Championship without the many HL's who ride in Poland could be a very different landscape... And, if the top tier get a TV deal, they can offer the current shared riders more of a guarantee...

I had forgotten about that - it was nasty one so maybe that's a factor - I hope he gets back to where i think we all know he can be. Cracking fella - he was trying - i don't think the track helped insofar as it wasn't easy to work lines to pass - but some did - in fact I have Tom making a 4th to 3rd spot move in heat 10 past Kyle Howarth. He tried hard in heat 13 but just couldn't get close enough to Masters.

Don't need to go over any of it again but this winter is the be all and end all for Ipswich Speedway going forwards. Serve this up next season and it's going to be the beginning of the end to be truthfully blunt. Can you change your username to OTT please unless TTT was a mistake to start off with. Again, your expectation for this season is extremely high and unrealistic, I bet on paper you wouldn't have thought you'd get to a league cup final but now they are there (and they've not lost it yet) you bring out the doom and gloom. I think with the support Ipswich get even if 2 years time if you dropped into the championship you'd get good crowds Like others have said, this is one season everyone knew would be a struggle even supporters of other clubs, you seem to be the only one that is comparing previous seasons
TTT
9 hours ago, mikebv said: Blimey... One average season in the last what? Five?... An "average season" where they will still make the play offs, and can still win the KO Cup... Hardly an achievement in a 6 Team League that features King's Lynn and Northampton. Was never winning the Cup before a wheel was turned because Leicester are head and shoulders above Ipswich hence why I called out Paul Hurry's excuses about Stewart Dickson in our previous Home meeting against the Lions. Leicester are the 2nd best team in the League imo and the only thing stopping them from doing the Double is their track record at the NSS imo. Your promoter talks a lot of sense, but so did Stuart Douglas when he brought Arena Essex and none of the other promoters would listen to him either because he was new and they don't the idea of change, even when things are in the gutter. I agree, You can't upset the apple cart because you'll get hounded out. I hope they listen to Richard Coleman but I don't have much hope because we're talking about people who've never listened no matter how bad things have got year after year.

I refuse to criticise Tom because I'm fully aware of the situation he's been put in, Really not nice to see him struggle almost every week this season. I'll 100% stick by the young lad even if he scores 0 tbh.

And sadly that shows the quality of the product compared to years gone by, Leicester have a solid side but not one rider in it who's in the top 20-30 riders in the world. This is another one of the sports huge problems chipping away at the quality of the product year on year but also upping the cost every season. It certainly hasn't helped Sheffields cause having no Tai and losing Jack Holder this year. Same with Ippo no Doyle and Emil, the flip side though is even if you bring in a big hitter crowds might go up for 3-4 meetings then level off again, then you have Belle Vue two awesome riders on show most weeks but crowds down also lord knows how it can be turned around if it even can.
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Haven't seen a graveyard gate 4 like that for a long time - a bit bizarre really A freakish Drew Kemp performance was the difference between the draw we got and the Witches picking up the 10+ win to make it interesting - as simple as that

SPEEDY69
It was a close affair last night and good to see some Leicester fans making some noise. Shame Ipswich let points slip with King and Lawson falling but that's how it goes sometimes. Kemp was awesome for Leicester, 15 from a 5 point reserve has won them the cup I think. Brennan was woeful yet again, even when he makes good starts he gets beat up around the first couple of bends and given the side Ipswich have, if your 'number one' only gets 4/5 points meeting it's never going to end in success. I hope he can turn it around but we're now coming into August. Moaners on here make me laugh, ooh the track this or that, nothing wrong as far as I can see - last night was a little slicker but that's how speedway has always been in the UK and is what makes it more interesting for me, rather than fastest engine wins on a billiard table. Siggytastic
Is it just for Ipswich that Lawson doesn't do the "victory" parade? Does He it do it for Poole? Edited July 28 by Siggytastic Fat fingers
cowboy cookie returns?
Any way on to 27 1 2 Rew 3 Brennan 4 New pole using Wroclaw connection 5 Musilak 6 7 Will we see Rew back next year I think we might. Brennan is a no brainer after his struggles this season A young exciting rider using the Wroclaw connection seems to be feasible i would have Musilak back if the averages allow. As for the reserve berths no idea. I guess if Pedersen does well he could be the number 6 As for the number 1 do they go the Doyle route or possibly try & temp Emil back? Or will we see someone new? A lot depends on league structure & points limit but a refresh over the winter is required. Ive only left King out because I think he’ll be expensive on his average after cracking 2026.
