  1. What a farce and unacceptable. If Lawson has signed for his Danish club before us then there’s nothing to be done but considering he has ridden for Poole in previous seasons, it has to be said it stinks. Not acceptable and my guess would be it’s his final season in the skull and crossbones.

  2. Think tonight’s match proved there’s not much between a Sh*t rider and a GP rider.

  3. I’d love to see Northampton get 3 points personally. Kings Lynn will battle to get another wooden spoon.

  4. all things can be true, close racing / trying but failing to overtake can be exciting particularly if a rider is well defending his racing line in front. - riders all strung out not so.

  5. Sam Masters will be riding for Poole as a guest (as will Eddie Kennett, who has somehow managed to keep his average safely below Fraser Bowes) while Drew Kemp will be back at #1 for the Bandits -- the position he held at the end of last season!

  6. That’s simply because the track man was forced by the referee to tyre pack the track after Dickson’s complaints, despite the track man telling him it would only make things worse. Which it did! The track was prepared exactly the same as the previous two meetings as Hurry pointed out. Dickson didn’t think it would suit his team so kicked up a fuss and complained to the referee. The ref was weak unfortunately. Taps is correct, we should prepare it exactly how we like which gives us home advantage and stuff anyone from the away team that doesn’t like it. The “dangerous” stuff was utter nonsense.

  8. I agree. I bet a lot of Coventry, Cradley, Wolves, Peterborough, Swindon and Arena fans would like an 'average' season. This is not about us at Ipswich or any other team, it's about the sports survival now pure and simple.

  9. Not just Ipswich I would say, the sport is in a mess and the loss of any one team would have a serious effect on the others being able to run a proper model. Your promoter talks a lot of sense, but so did Stuart Douglas when he brought Arena Essex and none of the other promoters would listen to him either because he was new and they don't the idea of change, even when things are in the gutter.

  10. Blimey... One average season in the last what? Five?... An "average season" where they will still make the play offs, and can still win the KO Cup...

  13. As I remember it the KO home meeting was swapped round with the league fixture, making both rearranged matches, that I'm thinking gives Lawson's danish side priority for their pre-scheduled matches.

  14. On social media, anyone can be a "speedway fan"... Just like a crap restaurant can have great reviews... Those sitting in judgement won't consider any personal comments made on some SM platform,, both positive or negative..

  15. I think that includes his 7 from 5 on Friday (the day after the cut off). His GSA will be 5.00 next month

  16. Typical snowflake response. But if you can't offer any "nasty" constructive feedback then how can you improve on anything? My point is that I have been looking at these NORA meeting line ups for a while and it just seems to be the same non-contracted riders in every meeting. One week it will be a Rye House race jacket, the next it will be a Cradley. If you want to pay to watch that then fine that's your choice.

  17. I would have thought that this applies to meetings throughout the UK, and if you really want to stretch a point the GP's seem to have mostly the same riders from meeting to meeting, try finding something else to moan about, or if you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all.

  18. Prepare it as we want and tell them to go do one if they don't like it! 🙂

  19. The Leicester performance tonight doesn't make great reading Kemp 15/6 Masters 6/5 from a Poole point of view. Re: the absence of Lawson on Wednesday if you want somebody to blame why not the person/people who decided to cancel the Berwick KO heat cos it coincided with a football match (balancing the cost of running a poorly attended KO heat against potentially a well supported final) and of course the person/people who decided to swop the scheduled league heat with the KO heat. (That was the real clanger). These decisions directly resulted the Richard being contractualy obliged to ride for the Danish team on both occasions. Lawson is just trying to make riding speedway fit his life, he's done nothing wrong he's just doing what he has signed up to. The Fords on the other are making executive decisions that determine who actually rides for Poole on the night.

  20. I agree. . I remember some of the Aces teams post 1993 to 2000+... Six of us used to go, and we all ensured we got there as late as possible just in case any of us got given a team place!!!

  21. As a Poole fan hugely disappointed a british rider has to miss a British meeting to ride in a bloody Danish one! So fed up with everyone taking the piss out of british speedway, if you can't fully commit then f off!! Would rather watch national league racing knowing 7 fully committed riders barring illness/injury.

  24. I think the top 4 looks pretty set, Poole, Glasgow, Edinburgh & Scunthorpe. Berwick need away wins & haven't looked like doing it.

  25. I have to agree, something has changed this year with Richards commitments, not just at Poole. We have had a gap of 4 weeks then he misses another meeting! I also think this will be his last year at Poole.

  26. Nobody cares what you think,at Plymouth we maintain a positive vibe and dismiss negativity, that is working for us in general and we will maintain a glass half full attitude and look forward to the rest of the season

  27. Personally I think it stinks, Poole should be his priority. He has been great for Poole mostly but he missed the Cup meeting and now a league meeting. In my view this is unacceptable.

  28. I didn’t blame it, it’s just a factor. You could see certain senior riders speaking with the track men after heat 1 and 2 , there not the greatest track men ( four of them, and one has been around northern tracks for years ) but they do what they can and I think Redcar would be buggered without them. Strange that the ‘Top Man’ never goes out on the tractor . I agree, they are inconsistent, that’s why I wrote it 😄

  29. This meeting has been rearranged though it was meant to be on June 24th but it was changed to the KOC meeting between the 2 sides

  30. Which meeting was scheduled first?... Wednesday is Denmark's priority night so presumably their meeting was on the calender first?..

  31. Part of what makes Poland so watchable for me is the closeness of the racing .. Not always passing, but you can often see the rider behind trying new lines to at least try and make a pass.. And the consistent, usually quite slick, track surfaces give riders confidence to ride close, plus stops the rider in front filling everyone in and then flying off around a grippy track... Even "dead rubbers" in Ht14 and Ht15 can be brilliant to watch... (I presume £2k a point may have some influence on this though)...😁

  33. I have been working on this for a while and you're right, it's not the most practical. I have got to the stage where I have 7 years of results for PL1/2, SWE & UK, and it has produced a list that looks broadly about right, but it'll never be perfect. Even looking beyond the track - do some riders try more in POL than elsewhere (probably)? There so many variables (way more than I ever considered) and I don't think we'll ever get a proper, accurate model.

  34. Well at least you'll see a different 7 riders at the next meeting rather than the same away 7 you saw the other week in a Kent race jacket now wearing a Cradley one.

  38. Weird that, they both are in decent form elsewhere, capabilities not in question, yet never seem to come to terms with the track. With Zmarzlik in the team who is an absolute genius at reading conditions and getting bike setup spot on. Don't they communicate?

  39. That was a good meeting. Enjoyed it and it proves a point that the Poles can be vulnerable. Thanks to both teams to providing a competitive nights racing. If only these international meetings could take place in the u k like it use to happen back in the day. Dream on.

  42. There seem to be 30-40 who comment regularly on here, I was astounded when I think it was Mike who said there's 750 people online when he checked maybe us 30-40 have 30 aisles each ?

  43. 100% disagree with that. I'd argue it's better to have a weak field that qualified than a strong field who got seeded. Problem with using averages is some positions are harder than others, riders could miss difficult meetings through injury, Zmarzlik's team mates don't race against him or are they in fact hindered by finishing behind him if bonus points didn't count. I do believe it would be better running the GP challenge after the final GP, top qualifiers vs bottom GP riders for the remaining spots, probably more chance of the top riders qualifying then.

  45. A few weeks ago, i gave Batch some clog on here. So to be fair, giving credit where credit is due, he had a good meeting Monday & seemed to be making a real effort. No more issues with bike? BUT! Dispite beating Holder & running Rowe all the way to the line, i feel he let the winning point slip in Ht14. Letting Flint (not a bad rider, but not scored a bean until then) catch him on the line was, in my view, poor riding. However, NKI coming in 3rd was also poor. Giving Batch & NKI benefit of the doubt in Ht15. Pickering seemed to be riding better lines & had more mph in his engine. Disappointing the scoring from Klindt, Lidsey & Zagar. That's 2 home meetings on the trot that NK hasn't stepped up!! Lastly, have to say that was the best RACING so far, the passing & re-passing was very entertaining. Long may it continue.
