Think it’s worth mentioning how enjoyable last night’s meeting was. I’m often critical of Wimborne Road, but that was a great speedway meeting last night and a fantastic advert for the sport. It had everything, from close racing to dubious decisions, on-track-action and post-race interview controversy. Congratulations to the Pirates on another trophy and also Redcar in giving a fantastic account of themselves. Special mention to Will Cairns and Jake Mullford. Never lose that fire in your belly, boys.

I'm sorry, but if there is a growing dispute between two riders at the tapes, the starting marshal should intervene and sort it out. That is one of his jobs. For this to end in one rider pulling the others cut out is unforgivable. Surely this amounts to delaying the start and should lead to an exclusion. In fact I think it started out as 6 of 1 and maybe both riders should have been excluded for the delay of start. Instead of which we had this pantomime where an innocent party ends up getting thrown out.

That was great entertainment though if both were let at it down in the pits after there would of been only one winner and wouldnt of been Emil. Whether Cairns was right or wrong , being a knob or not, the sport desperately needs new fans and stuff like this wont do any harm.

Some of the comments at Cairns are laughable. Please remember he is still a bairn at 17, plying his trade with adults in a high pressure professional setting & a sport that is more adrenaline fuelled than most. I for one hope he keeps this up because if he wants a successful career & to chase the dream of being World Champion one day, then he is gonna need all these attributes that people are so keen to moan about. Wont be moaning if in 10 years time he is World Champion, the same people will probably be kissing his ass. Last night was brilliant for the sport. What was good to see was a load of youngsters going at it 100%, ie Cairns, Rushen, Mulford, Pijper, Scott. If these boys keep progressing then we might not see them in Britain for much longer before the lure of Zlotys beholds them, so enjoy it whilst it lasts!

Just got back from a very entertaining meeting at Poole. First of all commiserations to Redcar who put up a decent defence of their 6 point lead. Thought Charles Wright was quite brilliant. And to the handful of Redcar fans who travelled all the way from the north east to support their team. Racing was tight and Redcar battled well until the rumpus of heat eight when Mulford started kicking out at Will Cairns. Ref really messed up by putting on the Red light. Newman thought 2 mins had been cancelled and pulled away to the bend. But the Red lights went out and the clock kept ticking. Kyle arrived 2 seconds too late and was excluded. Very unfair. In fact ludicrous. But the Purates were then fired up and took control of the meeting. People moaning there is a lack of characters in the sport. Then along comes young Will Cairns who speaks what he thinks and it’s moan moan moan. Cocksure, should be taken down a peg or two, too big for his boots, etc etc etc. Will Cairns is perfect for speedway. A young lad, who is clearly heading to the top, causing waves. More riders should be like this.

Ipswich fans are embarrassing themselves with their sour grapes, was the title won by the lauded team of the Gollob, Louis era that totally steam rolled the league that year worthless as no other club could compete with them? There might have been more clubs in the league but none were close to that side. For gods sake we put a team together that many said would fail, Cook, Kildemand, Blodorn and the reserves seen as weak links, a long tail to accommodate the top two. They stepped up simple. Sheffield could still easily win the play offs as they can go well round the NSS and traditionally we struggle round their place. If we dont win the final a lot of posters on here are going to look really stupid.

It's delusional for anyone to think that it's lazy of the Bates family for example to not get themselves in even bigger financial trouble by signing a World Class replacement for Jack Holder just to mount a title challenge on BSN.

Love Coopers attitude like you say our class ,just wants to ride his bike doesn’t seemed to get phased with the situations. comes over as a grounded lad. Can’t really take to Cairns.He is a decent prospect but get very petty at times.

If we win I'll enjoy this like the last few wins. As every aces fan should. Or leicester and sheffield fans should if they win. Funny how its only the teams knocked out of play offs moaning. Although they still got 15 races to turn it round

Don’t mind it at all. Yes, it’s a dick move, but it’s mind games and you could argue it worked. Love the kick from Mullford in response too. Also a dick move, but again, I don’t mind it. It creates a bit of interest. I mean, these interviews are brilliant; too fired-up young riders. Great coverage for BSN. Love it.

Well, I've seen Will Cairns a few times, and while he might wind up the opposition, he hasn't done anything to actually endanger them. Unlike his buddy Coops who, on his two visits to Berwick has succeeded in knocking off/bringing down (pick your phrase) Peter Kildemand and Jye Etheridge (twice) in the same race and -- in the worst example of his over-enthusiasm -- Reid Battye in a horrible move. Earning two exclusions and a slap. All deserved. Of the two youngsters, Will seems to be more in control of his actions

Unless averages are immaterial for the reserves similar to rising stars this year? A points limit for 1-5’s, then two under 21 riders.

I do not think Cairns needs to be careful at all, we need more riders like him. What is wrong with a bit of winding up, if riders react like Mulford did, who knows what side the referee will take.

One of the major stumbling blocks to rider development has been the amount of experienced Double Uppers/Downers who have filled two places and not one... Particularly taking up so many places which should have been set aside for development in the 2nd tier...

May this help with the split between the premiership and championship and reduce doubling up. At the end of the day KJP and Edwards both have averages around 6.00 in the championship so in an ideal world should not really be troubling the premiership before the hit 7-8 in my opinion.

Loads of entertainment last night. Drama, crazy ref calls and some half decent racing. Love the confidence of Cairns, talented on a bike and the adrenaline was obviously flowing. Keep it coming. Some old school rivalry will help the sport thrive. On to the match itself, did Redcar do well or did Poole make hard work of it? Or both? Expected Poole to hammer the Bears.

At first glance it seems a decent idea, but it’s going to end the top flight careers of a lot of riders. Kevin Juhl Pedersen and Jason Edwards for example, are simply not going to be employed by a Premiership club in their 1-5. Maybe, someone might have squeezed them in at reserve, Pedersen particularly if someone built top heavy and needed a 3 pointer. 1-5? No chance.

Only one set of fans with a real problem here and thats ipswich. Not seen sheffield Leicester, lynn, Northampton fans on here crying. Ipswich fans think they have a god given right to win everything. This year they failed miserable and they cant handle it. Will be same again next season with penny pincher Coleman. And you can screen shot this

It’s almost impossible to get someone of the required standard over once the season has started unless you throw completely unrealistic money at someone and even then it isn’t a given! Doyle is the probable only exception. He’s always ridden here, wanted to ride here again this year and waited on Ipswich as long as he could before giving up and making plans elsewhere. He was always the one likely to come back mid season if/when an opportunity presented itself. He lives here. The stars aligned nicely for Belle Vue. Mark Lemon was in and around all the GP riders at the NSS for the GP weekend here at the time they were looking for a replacement for Bewley. They asked the question, and got the deal. A couple of seasons ago when we lost Doyle and then Emil, Louis with total backing of guy Nicholls, threw the kitchen sink at every quality rider to get replacements in. The closest they came was Michelsen who at one stage they thought they’d done a deal for, but he backed out at the eleventh hour. They’re very lazy shouts from people on here when they come out with “pay the money and get someone over”, they’re living in cloud cuckoo land. Once the season gets underway, it’s almost impossible.

I think you are right where are the riders going to come from? For me if speedway is to make a return to Arlington then maybe the powers that be should grant it an open licence to opereate in open meetings and challange matches with a team made up of riders from other teams on a day they are not racing for them (ie Sundays) This system worked for years at Rye House and was well supported by regular fans and racers alike. Everyone talks about what league they should enter if a return should happen but lets be honest no one knows what format the current leagues will look like from one year to the next let alone who will ride in them. The powers that be and possible promoters have to look at the teams that currently run under the NORA banner and maybe accept change is needed, 15 heats of 500cc racing is not the be all and end all of speedway these days an organised afternoon / evening of various racing is more likely to hold peoples interest every couple of weeks rather than "thats your 15 heats now bugger off and we will see you in a couple of weeks or maybe even a month for some more racing. Just my thoughts and maybe the wrong thoughts for many but I think unless things change in this sport Arlington could reopen for a two month or so season each year because there is no one left to race against.

should be two in the championship and one in the premiership. I also think instead of forcing teams to sign u21 (or whatever age) there should be a bigger average decreae for british riders in a sliding scale sort of way. Under 21 you get 10% off your average for team building, under 24 you get 5% off, over 24 you get 2.5% off. That way it encourages teams to sign the younger british riders but they are not forced too.

From my various sources we have already signed 9 riders, inclusive of 5 heat leaders. I am sure there are more to come 😂

I think Emil was a character in his younger days especially when he had an altercation with Scott Nicholls at Cardiff.

Every time the witches win something it’s obviously prestigious and challenging and to be congratulated. Thank god it very rarely happens..

This seasons "tin pot" league, of just six teams, certainly doesn't stack up against last seasons magnificently auspicious league of seven teams.. A league where the bottom two teams scored an excellent 17 points (combined), from their 48 matches, with seven tremendous victories in those forty eight matches being attained, four of those victories coming by one of them beating the other, meaning, therefore, that 10 of the 17 points they scored together came in those four matches.. And their combined total was just 13 points behind the fifth placed team, and just 26 behind the team who topped the league... A hugely impressive, prestigious league to win last season without any doubt, and one which will go down, I am sure, in the annals of history as one of the greatest ever, as the sport nears its centenary...

Can’t remember mine exactly but I remember we were in agreement at the start that the league looked to be in three parts. Northampton alone at the bottom due to them having a team of leftovers that even we left behind (with all due respect to them!), then a “meh” middle group of Lynn, Ipswich and Leicester, then a clear top two of Sheffield and Belle Vue. So even before a wheel was turned I think just about everyone predicted it was a two horse race which isn’t great really. Circumstances meant two teams were way behind everyone else and were never going to compete and when you only have a six team set up to start with, that obviously isn’t ideal. No matter what team you support, think we all agree that we want something much much better next season and beyond. Needs an extra team minimum, ideally two.

First off great result, deserved too. Cairns is one of the best 17 yet olds for sure, Mulford tried to exert pressure, but Will pissed off into the distance. Wind people up and who knows what the outcome will be. What did people think of the first start of heat 1? Cos to me it looked like Wright thought sh.t chronic start best lay the bike down and avoid wiping out 2/3 of our advantage?

For all those anti-Cairns fans who either weren't there or left before the post-meeting interviews, Will said he wanted to be at Poole next year but doubted it would happen due to the points limit, new rules etc. Matt and Danny would have some big decisions to make!!!

Didn't act or couldn't act ? Were Belle Vue just lucky that Bewley got injured before Holder ? If it had been the other way round and Sheffield had already snapped up Doyle, how would Belle Vue have dealt with that ? Who are you suggesting that Sheffield should have replaced Holder with ?

'We need more characters in speedway'... Well now you have one and everyone moaning and calling him names. So do you want one or not! Also Will's mind names plus the ref being stupid gave Poole the win. So thanks! 🤭👏 Edit- also no one moaning about the track not even Gavan, so can count this meeting as a winner all round?🙏

Hand bags etc who cares, its drama, its making the meeting a lot more interesting and your getting that drama because this meeting actually has something riding on it. They say its slick but clearly there is some dirt on it because of the outside run.

That interview sums Cairns up… If you want an example of how to entertain both on and off the track and endear yourself to fans of other clubs and not just your own, look no further than Cooper. Pure class. 👌🏻

Looked like six of one half a dozen of the other to me, Mulford was outside his gate as well. What followed was a bit of fun handbags … to exclude Newman for not being ready though was extremely petty (at best).

Dick move from Cairns. Heard a few rumours that some riders think he’s a bit too cocky for his own good. That just proved it…

The biggest takeaway from this season should be the Home form, or lack of it. Every meeting we did win was far too close for comfort, often behind until the latter stages. Also finished the season with a negative points difference at Home, across all League home meetings which probably hasn't happened before in our modern era. Need to set up the team to win at home in 2027, especially when being realistic, we will probably lose the majority of away meetings no matter who is in the side, if you win all your home meetings and nick one away win, the club would be making the play offs more times than not. One rider I would 100% have back to achieve this is Antti Vuolas, he easily averaged 8.5+ in both 24/25 seasons at home. And if the points limit does drop to 38, he would be a handy signing again on his 6 point something average, even if he does struggle away. His average will be good value in a weaker league

Friday night, Ashfield. 7:30PM (UK time)/2:30AM (Mongolia time). 53-37 from the first leg, so a 16 points deficit to face. Highly likely to be our final fixture in what has been a disappointing season, all things considered. Pickering will go through the card with 15 points, leaving six Scorpions to collect 23 between them to secure their place in the final. Mountain alone will likely hit double-figures from reserve. No idea about guests or availability for the Scorpions, but saw we’ve got Rowe in for Howarth and Hausl back. Big changes needed next season. Big changes.

A battling performance by the Bears in particular Charles Wright (who was brilliant) Jake Allan, Jody Scott and Jake Mulford, unfortunately as per the case all season , the team was not strong enough to get over the line. Looking ahead to next Season , I would look to keep Wright and Scott and look to add Klindt or King and then see what points are left to build the rest of the team. On a final note Will Cairns on all the occasions I've seen him seems to take great credit winding up other riders, he needs to be careful as one day he may get his comeuppance on the track or back in the pits.

You can rely on me- have phoned Poland. Spoke to the press officer Roza and the yellow zone will be open for qualifying - entrance by programme which i think is cash only 30zl. Ticket office number 4 .Gates open at 1.30pm local time i think.Hopefully what i have been told is correct.

The one decision the ref did get wrong was not excluding Newman in heat 12. He pulled a locker which forced his back wheel into hitting Jody Scott, not a case of first bend bunching.

Trying to find the article now and for the life of me I can’t find it anymore But saw on one of the Facebook groups, a Polish article suggesting that from 2027, reserves in the British League (I assume just Premiership) will have to be Under 21, with one or both being British. Similar to the Poles have it now. An idea that I’m supportive of in theory
