I''m sorry, I simply do not accept this statement. I have supported Speedway since 1964, I am 81 years of age, and it was people who are elderly now who kept the Sport going years ago. I no longer attend as I am unable to do so, but crucially it has to be realised that we did our bit for Speedway. If the youngsters no longer wish to go that is not MY fault, it is the fault of the youngsters themselves or more likely the fault of Promoters, Management of Speedway, who have acted in such a cavalier manner with the sport they were responsible for running. Please do not blame the elderly who have paid their money over the years and supported Speedway through thick and thin.5 points

There is a bigger risk in that these days, as you have to change your race night to move up a league (one of the reasons neither Glasgow nor Poole are moving up). The fans you attract on a Friday or Saturday night might not be the same people that want to go on a Monday or Thursday night. If your intention is to race in the Premiership, then start there and build your fan base with people that are willing and able to go that night5 points

I think you are missing the point, most teams are having to weaken significantly to get back within the points limit and so keeping the Bears team similar with a much stronger back up to Wright with King as second heat leader is not too bad at all.4 points

looking like the champ are building to 40 points, coleman wants a bigger gap between leagues so i very much doubt it will be 37 points for 6 riders, i really hope its 42 for 6 riders4 points

Assessed averages often just make a team look competitive on paper.. Everyone knows the reality will be very much different...3 points

You've pulled some absolute clangers on here, but this one tops the lot. I've always thought you were a 𤔠but that's actually being generous now. š¤¦āāļø3 points

If the limit is 37 for 6 on average each team will increase by 2 points ish even with no real improvement from anyone Utter madness continues To start the ratchet of improvement it needs to be at least 40 for the top 63 points

Just seen that Jake Allen is not wanted by Redcar next season, could be a good solid signing for comets along with batch and antti š¤2 points

Yes but the Champioship won't vote for that as they want their cake and to eat it Less doubling up and/or a change in the multiplier is required There was a plan to move it gradually from 1.5 to 2 but as with so many positive proposals it was soon dropped2 points

Think Redcar have got rid of the wrong rider I feel Edwards should have gone and gone with a top 4 of Wright King Allen Scott Jake Allen much more consistent than Edwards imo.1 point

You think wrong. Rather than needing over £30k, currently fund is short only £18.5k, but paused to allow switchover to a crowdfunding stream, which will allow the application for assistance.1 point

She is the darling of the crowd here at Landshut and she is a really good speedway rider!1 point

Having been privy to the figures of Eastbourne's final season under Ian Jordan its not so bad. They had a base figure of 600 and a floating 200, so 800 guaranteed each week. Also well over 1000 four times in half a season, Ian Jordan made a lot of mistakes but speedway could be a sport at the Arlington raceway that could exsist if run. The main issue is they will only get income from gate money and sponsorship, food and drink money will go to the lease holder. Its doable, but in the top league on an off race night, I would be doubtful Nothing will happen 2027 anyway..1 point

I reckon this is very close. I expect Leicester to be Ryan Douglas Max Fricke Dan Thompson Nick Morris Drew Kemp Luke Harrison Freddy Hodder RS1 point

Having just read the brief AGM delay statement again, this part stands out āA statement regarding next yearās structure, including any key regulation changes, will be issued when these details have been fully agreed and ratified, and this is not directly associated with the AGMā. Can we assume by that that they havenāt actually yet agreed on a points limit in the top tier? Surely we havenāt got the farcical situation where they just canāt agree and the likes of Northampton, Lynn, Leicester? Are building towards 37, whilst Belle Vue, Ipswich and Sheffield are building towards 40? You wouldnāt bet against it would you!?1 point

I remember Simon Wigg having a disagreement with the ACU over his commitments to British grass track & the fact that even as the current World Long Track Champion he would need to race in a number of club events to get a spot in the qualifiers for the British Masters before they would nominate him for the FIM Championship qualifiers. Simon took the choice to take out a Dutch racing licence & raced as a Dutch rider for a while. But at one meeting Simon was the winner & they played the Dutch National anthem at which point he stepped of the podium in protest.1 point

100% weāve seen it so often that their assessed averages go south, very few have maintained it in first season1 point

The telling factor when it comes to the points limit is the bidding war for Cairns. Logic would state that every top end Club is after the same rider because of a low points limit that would see them end up with an out of depth No.6 if they missed out on Cairns. If the limit was 40.00 for example then Cairns wouldn't be as important as teams could run with a 5.00 Newcomer at reserve for example.1 point

From a proposed team I was told (not Ipswich by the way) that was built to 40 points for the 6 riders with R/S not included. To have some new riders over in UK who would come in on assessed 7.50- 8 point averages 40 needs to be the minimum to increase the gap between both leagues1 point
-
It should be a high Points Limit because the CHAMP shouldn't be close to PREM standard like Coleman is saying. Problem is, Northampton's 1-7 very much sounds like -> Musielak, Morris, Lidsey, Thomson, Iversen, McDiarmid and a Rising Star which comes to just under 37.00.1 point

Most of the prospective teams being cited on here look hardly any different to last season's starting seven - and they won't, not with the same points limit. All you can hope for is that most riders live up to their average and one or two increase theirs.1 point
-
Canāt see it being anything other than 37. The proposed Northampton team has been built to 37 and hasnāt even quite managed that.1 point
-
While I completely agree that there should be a wider gap I worry if all clubs will be able to afford to build teams up to very high averages. Could lead to a very uncompetitive league?1 point

Irrelevant to this thread as that druggie clown won't ever be back at Glasgow after him and his nose ruined our 2024 season. Double no after he let his wife make a right show of herself giving it laldy about him being on the wrong painkillers! For the record it was a 20 month ban from April 2024, with a £2,000 fine and him having to pay for regular drug tests to prove he's clean. I'd be very surprised if he had paid the fine or taken the tests, as the chances of him being signed anywhere at the end of the 2 years are slim, which would mean that his ban has not yet started.1 point

Agree that fences will degrade over time but different locations and storage facilities surely mean at different rates. Some measure of plastic rigidity or similar reading can surely be used to determine when a fence needs replacing rather than a blanket ten years1 point

Thereās any number of riders who can look awesome in the NDL but thatās their limit. Loftus has a 9+ average in NDL but only 3.76 in the CL. I saw Shanes when he rode at Glasgow the night Greg Hancock was there. Greg told him to get his āassā off the saddle. Next time out, he did. And won. Time after that, he reverted to type and came last. Hausl signed as a 5 āonly had to exceed his averageā to be a good signing. How did that work out? Shanes will fill a gap, but, after so long in the sport - and I know he has missed long spells due to injury - heās not going to substantially improve. Fine for a team whose main aim is survival but no use for any club with a desire for success. IMO1 point

I don't think any Premiership heatleaders (top 3) should be able to ride in the Championship. The gap needs widening.1 point

Why would they move and have the extra expense, the moved down for it was not making enough money. They are the best supported Club in the Championship. Most Clubs in UK are losing money over the season and just surviving.1 point

Despite being disqualified in the final, Britainās Tim Neave becomes World Flat Track champion, riding for VXR Racing, the team owned by speedwayās GB Team organisers Vicky Blackwell and Rob Painter. Runner up was another Brit, Jack Bell. Good to hear the British national anthem played in Argentina1 point

Not distinctly average at all, still a young lad learning his trade and one of the UKās brightest young prospects! Plenty more to come from him next season1 point

18 years since the Reading speedway became a thing of history the last great Racer dismounts for the final time. My all time favourite Racer, watching him was a thing of magic right from the first time I saw him at Smallmead in 2003. Although he never quite hit the heights on the world scene he leaves the stage with 8 Polish league titles, 3 World Team Cup golds and most impressively in the era of Zmarzlik et al four Polish Individual championships. Earlier this year I visited Poland and on the way to a meeting at Lublin and dropped into the deserted Tarnow stadium. It was here Janusz's career started. A stadium worker approached me, an unidentified intruder, I pointed to my Racers top and uttered the magic words 'Janusz KoÅodziej Racing' and suddenly we were best of buddies. Thanks for all the memories Janners1 point

Strange how everyone loves Harrison, whenever I've seen him he's been distinctly average. Cairns is the much better prospect imo.1 point
