Jenkins has picked up a little, but it’s a pretty low bar. He’s been generally poor this season so far in both leagues, but as you say, he’s won a couple of important races recently. BUT, Hawkins said this on the official website this week.. ”we will look at options and see what we can do, and we will do what is best for Ipswich Speedway and do our very best to make us the strongest team out on track” There can’t be an argument that if an 8 point man is brought in to replace Doyle, then another change (i.e Cook for Jenkins) would make the team stronger. Is not replacing Jenkins with Cook “doing what is best for Ipswich Speedway to make us the strongest team out on track”? The obvious answer is no. I’m with you though, I think it’ll be a straight swap for Doyle and that’ll be that. But it could end up being another opportunity missed.
King has withdrawn from tomorrow’s British final by the way. -

I agree that Leon is proving to be a bit of a disappointment this year. I hope it's a temporary dip in form and that he will resume his upward development in due course. I don't like making comparisons but in this case I will. Dan Thompson has been making steady progress for several seasons. He has clearly found a happy home at Ipswich and has made the next step. It is obvious (to me anyway) that any youngster entering the Rising Star system is going to find himself in a very daunting environment. They are going to need constant help with set ups, riding technique and ongoing help to maintain their confidence. This ain't a case of putting a lad (or lass) in the number 7 position in a top flight team and assuming just because they are there, that they'll make progress. Without constant mentoring they are likely to go backwards (metaphorically speaking). -
Generally the racing hasn't been as good at Lynn over the last twenty odd years due to the high clay content of the material used but the stock cars pay the big bills so that won't change. What I would say though is that when the home side gates so well and the away team is struggling with set ups all night then you won't get the best racing. Last night was average, we've seen better and worse at Lynn. Also no R/R, changes, crashes or false starts meant it was all done in an hour and twenty minutes which I think is about right for a speedway meeting. Nice to be home well before 10pm.

Did anyone else notice Lindgren absolutely blaze past Lampart last night in Heat 5... Lampart then came round the 1st and 2nd bends looking very shook up

Good all round performance by the stars tonight. Even Anders and Simon put in good shifts, they were always there or there abouts and in the mix for points. Captains role by Klindt. Why we ever let him go i will never know, but thanks to Oxford for letting us have him back! Richard Lawson excellent choice of guest - another rider we should have never let go, always gives 100%. Good to see Patryk knocking in good points from no. 2 and NKI and Basso scoring as they should Kept waiting for Sheffield heat leaders to step up but they never did. With Kvech in the team what are the chances of a Srars v Ippo final...
