Best wishes to Doyley hope to see him riding for us next season. I hope Chris can come up with a replacement that doesn't end up with Lindgren type visa issues, on saying that, to me Doyley is irreplaceable as a team member in the pits. If Adam is out for a few more weeks perhaps we could persuade Scottie to sign on a 28 day injury replacement. As for Laguta I hope we steer clear, he might be a good rider but he didn't appear to be much of a team player at Peterborough or Kings Lynn. -
Living very close to Wimbledon it was the track I visited twice a week for many years (speedway and stock cars) with my parents and Ronnie Moore was my hero. Hackney was however visited half a dozen times a year with early memories including 'pirate' Provincial League meetings. At that time we used the Central line to Leyton and caught the special bus to the track. The buses were some of the oldest I ever travelled in. Moving forward to the mid 70s and I took my new girlfriend to her first speedway meeting, a young England verses young Poland event. The Poles had an absolutely dreadful evening and when one fell off early in the meeting and my father casually mentioned that the bikes did not have brakes my girlfriends face went sheet white and she could barely watch the rest of the meeting. Moving forward to the late 80s and Race Video asked me to do the commentary at both Hackney and Arena Essex for their Speedway videos. A lasting memory from that time was interviewing Steve Schofield with him stand two steps up the stand steps so our heads were at the same height for the camera. I just wish Wimbledon, Hackney and Arena Essex were still running as I miss my weekly fixes of two and four wheel racing.

Well a rare Saturday meeting at the ECCO arena. It’s obviously caught people out, as nobody has started a thread yet, either that or there’s not much interest.
The teams are expected to line up as follows, but to be confirmed:- Redcar Agilia Bears. 1- Charles Wright (c) 2- Connor Bailey 3- Dan Gilkes 4- Jason Edwards 5- Tate Zischke (G) 6- Ben Trigger 7- Jake Mulford Glasgow Tigers 1 Chris Harris (c) 2 Paul Starke 3 Leon Flint 4 James Pearson 5 Steve Worrall 6 Jack Smith 7 Ace Pjiper -
Rearranged at insistence of BSPL No Guest allowed for Newman who is getting married. Do you suggest he cancels wedding. Covatti is ready to ride and has tried, likely back in a few weeks. Better to give all team extra rides than fork out a 4 figure sum on a mercenary like Batchelor. Longevity far more likely by keeping costs down than splashing money they haven't got. Losing less money is as important than trying to make some. No big earners in that team and have already won away and at home. They'll probably outlive my Brummies, where Crowds are nowhere near better enough to pay for overseas riders we've signed and that's before Lindgren Sport can't afford to lose any more tracks as it is.
